Synopsis of subject This subject deals with the important aspects of wireless and mobile computing including wireless LAN, wireless WAN and cellular networks. Wireless technology protocols and standards are also studied. Mobile communications and wireless networking technology has seen a thriving development in recent years. Driven by technological advancements as well as application demands, various classes of communication networks emerged. This includes sensor networks, ad hoc networks, and cellular networks, wireless broadband technologies. Subjek ini berkaitan dengan aspek kepentingan pengkomputeran tanpa wayar dan mudah alih termasuklah LAN tanpa wayar, WAN tanpa wayar dan rangkaian cellular. Protokol dan standard teknologi tanpa wayar turut akan dikaji. Komunikasi mudah alih dan rangkaian teknologi tanpa wayar telah berkembang maju semenjak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Ia didorong oleh kemajuan teknologi, permintaan aplikasi dan pelbagai kelas rangkaian komunikasi telah muncul. Ia meliputi rangkaian sensor, rangkaian ad hoc dan rangkaian cellular, teknologi jalur lebar tanpa wayar. 12.
