Fertility Services Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) Fee Estimates Thank you for choosing University Women’s Care Fertility Services. We look forward to helping you build your family. To assist in your financial planning, we have prepared a fee list for the cost of intrauterine inseminations (IUI’s). The amounts represented in this document are only estimates and are subject to change. Pricing: Should you elect to receive IUI services, you must pay for these services prior to your insemination, per the prepayment policy stated in this document. The pricing on the right reflects the cost of the IUI treatment with ultrasounds plus the cost of additional ultrasounds at the discounted standard rate listed in the monitoring section below. Most patients with regular cycles require only a single ultrasound per month, but if cycles are irregular or injectable medications are used for stimulating the ovaries, it is more common to need additional ultrasounds. If you arrive for your appointment without prepayment it will be necessary to cancel your treatment and reschedule your appointment for a later date. We will reschedule once payment has been received. All IUI Treatment Packages include: • Sperm washing and preparation • Three covered cycles (or until a live birth occurs) One IUI plus one ultrasound per cycle One IUI plus two ultrasounds per cycle One IUI plus three ultrasounds per cycle One IUI plus four ultrasounds per cycle $ 700.00 $1000.00 $1300.00 $1600.00 Monitoring: Unless discussed in advance, additional ultrasound scans and lab tests are infrequently needed beyond those included in the package pricing above. You or your insurance will be charged for each additional ultrasound and lab test performed according to your specific situation. • Additional ultrasound $150.00 • Additional estradiol (excluding venipuncture) $105.00 • Additional progesterone (excluding venipuncture) $79.00 • Venipuncture (a“blood draw”) $22.00 Insurance and Fertility Treatments: Unfortunately at this time, most fertility treatments are not covered by health insurance carriers. For this reason, we require prepayment for these treatments. We will waive the prepayment requirement and agree to bill your insurance only if your insurance company provides written confirmation of coverage and appropriate authorization of services. If you have already initiated care at University Women’s Care Fertility Services and you need assistance with preauthorization, please contact our Financial Counselor at (601) 984-5330. Some approaches to intrauterine insemination also involve using ovulation predictor kits to identify ovulation. The cost of this kit will vary depending on where it is purchased. Ovulation predictor kits are not included in the package prices listed. These package prices do not include costs for separate office visits, diagnostic tests, laboratory tests, or medications. You and your physician, together, should review the packages above to determine if one of these treatment plans is right for your specific situation. Payment may be made with cash, cashier’s check, money order, Visa or MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Due to bank limits on debit transactions, we cannot always accept payment by debit card for procedures which require prepayment. We do not accept personal checks. Cashier’s checks and money orders may be made payable to University Physicians. To pay by bank card, please contact our Financial Counselor at (601) 984-5330. Medications: There are a variety of ovulation induction medications available. You and your physician will work together to determine whether there is a need for any of these medications. The ovulation induction medications are not part of the package prices. The costs of these drugs will vary from pharmacy to pharmacy and are subject to change. Because of the number of doses per cycle will vary from patient to patient, it is difficult to estimate the cost of medication per cycle. The typical cost for oral medications is less than $100 per cycle and the usual cost for injectable medications is from $500 - $2000 per cycle. These medications are available in the UMHC pharmacy at a cost typically lower than outside pharmacies.
