To avoid any complications associated with diabetes you will need special preparation prior to your CT scan.
All diabetic patients will need to have a kidney function test done prior to receiving IV contrast. This is due to the increased
risk of kidney impairment associated with diabetes.
Some diabetic medications can pose health risks when used in conjunction with IV contrast media. Please discontinue taking
any of the following medications the morning of your CT and for 48 hours following your exam:

If you are diabetic and taking one of these medications, you will need to have follow-up labs drawn 48 hours following your
CT. You may only resume taking these medications after your lab work has been drawn and you have been contacted by your
nurse.

Options for Advanced Services
You are being referred for advanced imaging services. IUI offers these services to our patients in our facility. However, you are free to
elect to see any qualified provider and need not elect to have IUI perform such services. Below is a list of providers available:
