Tips & Tricks
Enhanced Drug Class Workflow
In addition to the Drug Classes link in the Resources section on the homepage, a drug class workflow is now
offered in Micromedex Clinical Knowledge, with the ability to browse drug classes from the drug dashboard after
searching for a drug.
If for example, during a drug shortage of methimazole, a substitute is required for the treatment of hyperthyroidism,
Micromedex users can search for the drug on the homepage, and the drug classes of methimazole can be viewed
from the drug dashboard. Select Antithyroid Agent from the drug classes, and an alphabetical list of drugs in that
class will be displayed, with the option to jump straight to another letter in the alphabet for efficiency if the list is
long. Select a drug to view further detail to support treatment decisions.
Alternatively, select the Drug Classes link on the Resources section of the homepage. This will display an alphabetical
list of drug classes, and users can select Antithyroid Agent to view the drugs in that class.
