Camp-A-Palooza Performers
Chris Barron and the Time Bandits
Chris Barron is many things: the voice of the Spin Doctors,
the face of the jamband scene, an MTV superstar, an East
Village troubadour, the author of some of the 1990s’ most
enduring radio hits, a father and a teacher. In the early
1990s, the Spin Doctors’ multi-platinum debut Pocket Full
of Kryptonite became a grassroots success story,
spawning ubiquitous hits like “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,”
“Jimmy Olsen's Blues” and the chart-topping “Two
Princes.”
The group was nominated for a Grammy, scored the cover of Rolling Stone and shared
the stage with luminaries like the Rolling Stones. They even appeared on Sesame Street.
Today, Barron tours with his band the Time Bandits—keyboardist Jon Lloyd, drummer Phil
Cimino and bassist Brett Bass. The group has just released a new album, Pancho and
the Kid.
Ellis Paul
After emerging from the Boston folk music scene in the
early 1990’s, Ellis Paul became one of the leading voices in
American songwriting. Between 1993 and 2004, he won an
unprecedented 13 Boston Music Awards. His songs were
heard on hit TV shows “Ed” and MTV's “Real World”; and in
the soundtracks of several Farrelly Brothers films, including
"Me, Myself, & Irene," and "Shallow Hal." Director Peter
Farrelly has called Paul "a national treasure”.”
Paul’s first family album, The Dragonfly Races, was named a 2008 Parents' Choice Silver
Honor award winner. Scott Alarik of the Boston Globe wrote: “Dragonfly Races bubbles
with buoyant, hummable songs that appeal to kids and parents - and incite good
conversations between them.”
The Snacks (a.k.a. Pete and Maura Kennedy)
The Snacks have been entertaining kids for over ten years.
Pete is the composer of the hit song, "Air Guitar", made
famous by Cathy Fink and Marcie Marxer, and the
Kennedys regularly host riotous air guitar sessions. Maura's
rocking guitar and fun-spirited vocals, and of course her
colorful garb, have inspired a legion of "guitar toting
All of their songs involve the audience as singers, dancers, and sometimes spontaneous
songwriters, and the show always ends with a runaway conga line snaking around the
venue. It's rock 'n 'roll mayhem at its finest.

Mortal Beasts and Deities: Flock of Doves and Hawk
Mortal Beasts and Deities calls itself “Joyous purveyors of
Earnest Frivolity, Felicitous Discord and Controlled
Mayhem.” Their Camp-A-Palooza show will feature the
astoundingly beautiful flock of doves and the awesomely
large hawk, both of which will swope through the camp,
carried aloft by graceful stiltdancers. A treat for all ages!
