St. Paul Cathedral Concert Series Presents organist Haig Mardirosian Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 7:30pm Haig Mardirosian is dean of the College of Arts and Letters and professor of music at The University of Tampa. He has earned international standing as a composer, conductor, concert organist and recording artist. He has performed in important international festivals and has 20 recordings to his credit on various labels in the United States and Europe. Haig Mardirosian has over a dozen recordings to his credit on various labels including Gothic, Centaur, Organo Phon, Mitra, Musical Heritage Society, Westminster, and Monitor. Widely recognized and praised are his recordings of works by Eben, Liszt, Brahms and English composers of the 18th and 20th centuries. Recent releases include a Centaur disc of choral works of Orlande de Lassus, a program also including Mardirosian’s own reconstruction of a set of canons by the Renaissance polyphonist, and “Clavierübung Live,” a live performance of the Bach, Clavierübung, part III. His newest releases are a disc of the complete organ works of Johannes Brahms, marking the second complete set of Brahms he has made, a disc of Gregorian Chant with Ensemble Torculus, and the debut recording of the Dobson Organ of Sykes Chapel at the University of Tampa released by Centaur in Fall 2011.
