Sinead O’Connor cannot be confused with anyone else on the world
music scene. This artist with an unusual voice has over a dozen albums to
her credit. The latest of them – How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? – is
from 2012.
Sinead O’Connor’s musical career blossomed in 1987 thanks to the hit
Mandinka, while the multiplatinum success of the album I Do Not Want
What I Haven’t Got (1990) with the unforgettable version of Prince’s
Nothing Compares 2 U strengthened her position further in contemporary
pop music. Years that followed saw her new albums, in which she kept
experimenting with various genres, e.g. Irish folk (Sean-Nós Nua from
2002) or roots reggae (Throw Down Your Arms from 2005).

The 2008, 2009 and 2011 Poland tours of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)
were a major success and the overwhelmed fans in each city gave the
“Electricians” a standing ovation. Will it be the same this time too?
ELO are seen to be one of the most creative and original groups of the
‘70s and ‘80s. Despite forty years of presence on the music scene their
pieces continue to fascinate with the perfect combination of symphonic
sounds and rock power. A timeless group with a unique sound. During the
November concert the group’s members: Mik Kaminski, Louis Clark, Eric
Troyer, Parthenon Huxley, Gordon Townsend and Glen Burtnik will play
their greatest hits, including Evil Woman, Mr. Blue Sky, Do Ya, Don’t Bring Me
Down, Xanadu and many more.

The scenography in Nabucco is extremely important, for it introduces
the audience to the historical context of the plot. Every detail has been
fine-tuned. It cannot be otherwise if it is prepared by Andrzej KreützMajewski – a giant of the Polish opera, applauded on the world’s largest

When Alexandre Dumas, pére finished reading E.T.A. Hoffmann’s
The Nutcracker and Mouse King, he called it “the most beautiful fairy tale”,
incidentally immediately proceeding to translate it into French. This was the
version that the composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky and choreographer Marius
Petipa read. This is how the famous ballet originated, with its premiere in
1892 in the Mariinsky Theatre in Petersburg immediately conquering the
hearts of the spectators. Especially the juvenile ones.
The current production is made by the Dutchman Toer van Schayk and the
Canadian Wayne Eagling, who take the colourful world from Hoffmann’s
tale with Tchaikovsky’s music to... old Warsaw. Children cannot even
imagine Christmas without The Nutcracker. Neither can grown-ups.
