Dartmoor Life in the First World War -Peter Mason, who curated the exhibition that
was the overall winner in the 2016 CAHG awards, will describe how the wealth of material in
community archives and local collections brought Dartmoor’s World War One history alive.
11:30-12:00
Plymouth LGBT Archive - Dr Alan Butler will discuss how queer lives have traditionally failed to
create a legacy of archival materials and how the oral history interview can be used to capture the
ephemeral nature of hidden histories and then enable them to be performed again with particular
attention to a heritage trail around Plymouth.
12:00-12:30
In Other Words -Playwright Natalie McGrath, and lead artist for We'll Meet In Moscow
www.wmim.co.uk will talk about making a creative partnership with Plymouth's award
winning community LGBT Archive. A partnership that commissioned 6 writers to make a
creative response to materials and stories from this archive to develop 6 new short plays for
the stage.

Lunch - including Plymouth History Centre Tour - Join Louisa Blight, Collections Manager at
Plymouth City Council, on a walk-around of the future £34m Plymouth History Centre site.
Learn about the ambitious plans for the galleries, collections integration and partnership
development. The tour will last 20-30 minutes. Meet outside The House.

Kresen Kernow and the creative sector - Tamsin Mallett (Cornwall Record Office/Kresen Kernow,
Cornish Archives Network, CAHG) will talk about how the Record Office is using its collections as
inspiration in a number of projects with the creative sector.

The Minack Theatre Trust Archive - The Minack Theatre has an extensive archive of
theatrical related items and those belonging to its creator Rowena Cade. In 2014 the
Trustees decided to create a specific role to catalogue and manage the Archive to ensure
that it is preserved for the future. Melissa Hall will talk about what they’ve got and what
they’re doing.
