The show on August 10 is at the Festhalle Theatre, 3 blocks from the hotel, so plan on walking this distance both ways (new driver hours regulations prohibit your driver from moving the coach that evening after your trip from Victoria). Transportation is provided to The Sound of Music, but there is a short uphill walk to the outdoor amphitheatre and your seating. If you are not able to participate in Activity Level 1, Wells Gray Tours recommends that you bring a companion to assist you. The tour director and driver have many responsibilities, so please do not expect them, or your fellow travellers, to provide ongoing assistance. Early booking is essential: Some people are inclined to book late when a tour is only three days long. However, due to extremely high demand, Leavenworth Summer Theatre maintains policies that are much stricter than most theatres. We must commit to seats and pay for them on May 1, and cancellations are not refunded. If the tour is not sold out by then, we will reduce the number of seats in our reservation and it probably will not be possible to get those seats back for people who book late. Theatre Bavarian Style Leavenworth celebrates the summer of 2016 with its 22nd season of theatre, anchored by its signature production, The Sound of Music. Experience the magic of theatre under the stars as you watch the show outdoors at the Ski Hill. The sun falls behind the ridge, the moon rises over the valley, and Maria descends the hillside — literally — singing the title song. Enjoy your favourite songs from this popular musical — My Favorite Things, Edelweiss, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, and Do-Re-Mi. A Bavarian Village classic! Beauty and the Beast is the other featured production which takes place at the Festhalle Theatre in downtown Leavenworth, a leisurely 3-block walk from the Enzian Inn. Based on Disney’s Academy Award winning animated film, the story tells of Belle, a beautiful girl from a small town, and The Beast, a handsome prince placed under a spell who must earn the love of a girl to escape the enchantment. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including Be Our Guest and the beloved title song. Enjoy wonderful professional theatre in a lovely mountain setting with some of the best natural surroundings and unique shops in Washington State.
