Maxine Whittaker, with LuMaxx Productions, is delighted to be a member of Springfield Theatre Alliance. Maxine began her theatre career
in Los Angeles in 1991, learning every facet of theatre production by
doing them all. She’s a native Missourian and came back to Springfield in
1994 where she began directing plays for the Vandivort Center Theatre
in 1996. She began LuMaxx Productions in 2007 specializing in Dinner
Theatre. She is also an actor appearing in many productions in local
theatres, plus commercials and movies. Since 1991, Maxine has been
involved in over 80 productions and is very pleased and proud to be part
of Springfield’s Theatre family.

George Cron’s, Class Act Productions is proud to be a member of the
Springfield Theatre Alliance. Well known as an actor and director at
almost every theatrical venue in Springfield, George’s debut as an executive producer was the highly praised 2009 world premier of FRANKENSTEIN, MONSTER at the Gillioz Theatre. A professional actor, director,
producer, and college professor, George brings over thirty years of experience, including television and film, many years Off Broadway in NYC, and
in regional theatres across the country, to Springfield stages.

Drury Theatre explores a wide variety of theatre genres, from contemporary to classical, turn-of-the-century realism, musicals, edgy American
drama and a regular dose of Shakespeare.
Shows run 2 per semester: early October, mid-November, early March,
late April.

Coger Theatre is the mainstage theatre on the MSU campus. Houses
mainstage shows , including musicals, plays and dance concerts.
Shows run September - May.
Balcony Theatre is a black box theatre in Craig Hall on the MSU campus.
Houses both mainstage shows for the Theatre and Dance Department as
well as the UTD One Acts.
Shows run September - April.
Tent Theatre is a professional theatre company on the MSU campus. It is
an outdoor theatrical venue, which has become a summer staple of the
greater Ozarks community. Each summer there are 2 musicals and 1 play.
Shows run June - July.

Opened in 1992, Hammons Hall is the realization of the dream of a
performing arts center for the Springfield community. Shows include
touring Broadway musical productions and single performances including classical music, jazz, dance, theatre, comedy and children’s shows.
Missouri State University also performs concerts, recitals and hosts
lectures in the Hall. In addition, the hall is also used by the Springfield
Symphony orchestra and other community arts presenters; and for rentals for concerts, conferences and large-scale receptions.
For the past 75 years, Springfield Little Theatre has been the center of
cultural life and entertainment in the Ozarks. As we enter the next 100
years of the Landers, the theatre is dedicated to maintaining that heritage
by presenting the best of live theatre in an environment reflecting a rich
past and an exciting fulfilling, future. Springfield Little Theatre offers a
wide variety of productions that appeal to all audiences. From comedy to
drama, Springfield Little Theatre incorporates 6 mainstage productions
and 3 family series productions every season.

The Skinny Improv is a dynamic improvisational comedy group that
creates scenes and games to entertain and involve audiences. The hip,
cutting-edge and lightning-fast style of improvised sketches, scenes
and music is guranteed to keep you roaring with laughter and leave you
screaming for more.
Shows are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm as well as Friday and
Saturday at 10pm

Operated by the Springfield Landmarks Preservation Trust, the restoration of the Gillioz Theatre was completed in October 2006, 80 years
after the original opening. In its early years, the Gillioz was Springfield’s
premier entertainment venue, hosting a number of movie premiers and
vaudeville shows. The Gillioz shows include live music concerts, plays,
self Improvement seminars, lectures, comedians, original historic films,
private corporate events, meetings and weddings.

Swan Repertory Theatre Company exists to bring profession classical
theatre to Southwest Missouri. Through Performances, education and
training, SwanRep will strive to bring a much needed focus to important
and classical works.

Built in 1908 by the Masons, The Vandivort’s theatre space has historically
been home to the Masons, Shriners, puppet theatre and children’s theatre
companies, and for the past 15 years, contemporary theatre. Springfield
Contemporary Theayre at the Vandivort Center excites audiences with a
wide variety of year-round productions. From landmark local productions
to contemporary classics, SCT is dedicated to the production of works
that can be re-energized through a contemprary view and an intimate
staging while using outstanding directors and local actors working with
guest professionals throughout the season. SCT annually mounts around
ten local productions ranging from award-winning plays and musical to
new and edgy regional and world premier attractions.
