 Social Media Strategist Full Time, In-­‐House Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Strategist, the Social Media Strategist is an essential part of our digital marketing team. This person is responsible for the development and execution of numerous social media and content marketing initiatives for VPDM Digital and our diverse roster of clients. This position requires strong experience using a variety of social media platforms and various social media scheduling tools. We’re looking for a highly motivated creative with strong writing skills and super researching ability, who is passionate about building a start up with a team of like-­‐
minded professionals. This gig demands experience in developing digital strategy, creating and curating engaging quality content, and a track record of growing “likes”, expanding reach, amplifying engagement, and ability to generate qualified leads It also requires thinking different when thinking “outside of the box”, paying extra close attention to detail, so much so that you could be labeled as OCD by your friends and family. We welcome an obsessive interest in pop-­‐culture, and a keen creative mind, to bring our client’s brand identity to life online. We want someone with an upbeat, results-­‐oriented attitude who is passionate about inspiring others in a startup environment. You must be a total team player who is looking to make a positive impact at VPDM Digital and grow with us as our young company continues to grow. The ideal candidate is a little ‘different”, passionate, creative and naturally curious. Previous employers would describe you as someone who meets deadlines and is fueled by learning and success. You must also understand that social media management requires engagement beyond the 9-­‐5 work day. In our world, social media notifications emails do happen after 5pm. Not all emails need to be answered right away, but social media notifications and social engagement, after hours, is a reality and should be expected for this position. Develop over-­‐arching social strategy including content and engagement. Create and execute integrated social media campaigns and initiatives. Monitor, respond to and create conversation with assigned client communities. Sometimes develop, and always be, the client’s ‘voice’ online. Develop and manage content for client social channels. Build and grow followers, fans, reach, and engagement. Integrate and collaborate with internal creative teams to develop social marketing and communications plans that leverage the social media space. Strategize, direct, and coordinate social media creative for always-­‐on, seasonal campaigns and other social marketing initiatives. Ability to scan the internet to curate relevant content for our clients. Monitor social media and digital marketing trends and proactively provide recommendations on new tools, services, and tactics. Create and maintain a quarterly content calendar and publish content through our client’s social media channels to generate interest and achieve a high level of engagement within the industry and fan base. Assist with uploading client website content. Gather and review social media analytics and contribute to monthly client reports. Analyze and track metrics for social media channels. Proactively contribute creative marketing ideas. Assist with community and/or blogger outreach efforts. Support marketing team with order fulfillment, event participation, photo & video shoots, and other promotional activity outside the office, sometimes after office hours. What We’re Looking For •

University degree or college diploma in a marketing, communications, or PR related field. 1-­‐3 years experience in a social media management position. Demonstrated advanced writing skills with published blog articles. Passionate, creative, freethinker who lives & loves all things social and digital. Experience using social media analytical tools and presenting insights. Strong project management skills and can self-­‐manage multiple deadlines. Knowledge of marketing, sales and business processes. Team player who confidently develops strong relationships with internal and external contacts, but can successfully work independently. Understanding that social media engagement must be dealt with after 5p. Strong computer skills, Mac OS X preferred, but not necessary, and basic video editing and/or graphic design skills. Basic knowledge of Photoshop. Experience using a variety of social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Vine, Snapchat, Periscope, Meerkat, etc.) Experience with social media management tools such as Buffer & Hootsuite. Experience in Content Management Systems including WordPress and or Drupal. Some knowledge of keyword research and SEO copywriting.
