Technology. Technique. Treatment.
The Cardiac Arrhythmia Center at the Heart & Vascular Center
of NYHQ continually provides new techniques and tools for
cardiologists to assess and treat patients with rhythm disorders.
The Heart Hospital
of Queens
As The Heart Hospital of Queens, we are
committed to ensuring that the diagnostic and
treatment options physicians prefer are
available for their patients right here.
In the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center’s Electrophysiology
Laboratory, you will find the techniques and the
technology to treat all types of rhythm disorders,
from ventricular tachycardia to supraventricular
tachycardia to atrial fibrillation. We implant
pacemakers and ICD’s using the newest methods.
Among the latest technology available is the
Endocardial Solutions EnSite 3D mapping system,
which can cure rhythm problems from deep within
the heart without the need for major surgery. This
is made possible by using sophisticated localization
technology to identify the exact area of diseased
heart muscle that is the source of the irregular
heart rhythms. This technology provides a 3D
representation of the heart, which is accurate to
within one-millimeter variance and then uses
radiofrequency energy (ablation) to destroy the
abnormal cells with great accuracy, allowing the
heart to return to its normal rhythm.
Other ablation methods available to remove tissues
that are causing the arrhythmia include both cooled
tip ablation (which uses saline circulated internally
through the catheter, or externally in a 'showerhead'
fashion) and cryoblation, which uses extremely
cold temperatures.
We are always available to discuss our services with
our physician colleagues, or to consult on a specific
case. Please contact us at 718-670-2388. If you have
a case that you’d like to discuss, we can talk by
phone, meet you in the hospital, or visit your office
if that’s most convenient.
