nature, hence a universal scripture was needed. We believe that in the Holy Qur’an, Allah (God) the Almighty preserves all those teachings that are of a permanent nature and incorporates additional teachings of a universal nature. So the world is presented with a divine scripture which satisfies the needs of all people and for all times. Through its network of printing presses, vast amounts of Islamic literature is being produced and distributed globally. The community has been at the forefront of service to humanity and world wide disaster relief answering the calls of the distressed regardless of colour, creed or religious affiliation. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organisation with a central spiritual leader - KHALIFAH. The present World wide Supreme Head is Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. WHAT IS AHMADIYYAT? Since 1908, Under the leadership of its spiritual successors, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has now translated the Holy Qur’an into over 60 major languages of the world including the first ever Luganda translation, constructed over 15,000 mosques, over 500 schools and hospitals the world over. Locally, the community is making significant contributions in the health and education sectors. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community propagates the true teachings of Islam and presents the Islamic message of peace and tolerance through a 24hr satellite television channel - Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA). The Ahmadiyya Muslim community was founded in 1889 by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908). He was born in a small village called Qadian in India. He established this community under divine guidance with the objective of reviving the lost Islamic high moral and spiritual values. The community advocates peace, mutual respect, love and understanding among the followers of various faiths. The Holy founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community claimed that due to his constant obedience and love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) , the chief of all prophets, he was chosen by Allah the Almighty as the reformer and promised Messiah of this age. * How will you be when the son of Mary will descend among you and will be your leader from among you? (Bukhari Kitabul Anbiya)... * Jesus also indicated that the signs for the time of his second coming would be earthquakes, plagues, epidermics, wars and general tribulations. (The Holy Bible; Mathew CH:24)... The community regards the second advent of Jesus (Isaas) as a figure of speech. Since Jesus is dead like all prophets, it is understood someone resembling the personality and characteristics of Jesus will come at a time when morality and religious behaviour will be akin to Jesus’ time. The Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) also foretold the coming of the Imaam-Mahdi (The divinely guided leader) who would be chosen by Allah for the guidance and reformation of mankind. All the above prophecies were fulfilled in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) who was the perfect servant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw). Allah (God) the Almighty had gracefully chosen him as the person who was to fulfill the long awaited promise of the second coming of Jesus (Isaas) son of Mary. He claimed that Allah the Almighty had informed him that he was chosen to represent all such latter-day appearances of spiritual guides such as Jesus Christ among the Christians, Isa ibn maryam and the Imaam-Mahdi among the Muslims, Bhudha among the Bhudhists and Krishna among the Hindus. By this, God intended to finally unite Mankind and all the God loving people. The community strives to revive peoples’ faith in Allah (God); by peacefully propagating the spiritual beauties and excellencies of Islam, to infuse hope, faith and love in the hearts of all people. To inculcate among all people of the world the spirit of tolerance, goodwill and a feeling of true brotherhood. Hence the Motto of the community; “LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE” The Ahmadiyya Muslim community strictly follows and adheres to the original religion Islam as taught and practised by the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) . The cardinal doctrine of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community is the unity of the Godhead - There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad (saw) is His prophet and Messenger. Islam helps us to establish a permanent relationship with God and to realise our responsibility in serving humanity without any discrimination. We believe that all major religions were true originally and their founders were noble prophets of God. But with the lapse of time, their truth was either forgotten or became corrupted with interpolations. Some of these teachings were of a local or temporary
