Quad Village Physical Therapy
Anodyne Therapy is a treatment for peripheral Neuropathy. It is a new
FDA-cleared and clinically proven therapy approach. It is a comprehensive
treatment to caring for patients with painful and circulatory problems.
Anodyne Therapy System is a non-invasive, drug-free device that delivers
infrared energy through infrared light-emitting diodes with a wavelength of
890 nm that are mounted in flexible therapy pads.
When the therapy pads are placed in direct contact with the skin, the
invisible infrared light is absorbed by cells in the body and blood vessels
begin to dilate, resulting in increased blood circulation in that area. Improves
circulation, stimulates healing, relieves pain and improves sensation.

Side-effects or Cautions
Anodyne Therapy has been used safely for over 12 years on thousands of
patients. It should not be used directly over an active cancer or over the
womb of a pregnant woman. With increased activities during therapy,
patients should always monitor their blood sugars carefully. There are no
known side effects or drug interactions, other than a very slight risk of a
superficial burn if therapy protocols are not followed.
Quad Village Physical Therapy Treatment Approach
Our comprehensive therapy program includes Anodyne Therapy with
personalized therapeutic interventions which significantly impact the pain,
numbness, and balance problems associated with peripheral neuropathy.
The treatment plan usually involves 10 to 20 therapy sessions.
Based on patient’s need, our therapy may include any or all of the following
interventions:
Anodyne Therapy to reduce pain and increase blood circulation
Stretching and strengthening exercises
Dynamic and static balance exercises
Massage and the use of other therapeutic modalities for pain
Sensory integrative techniques
Clinical Studies
Anodyne Therapy is the only diode-based light therapy that has been
clinically proven in numerous studies published in peer-reviewed medical
journals.
A study with 784 patients published in the Journal of Neurological and
Orthopedic Surgeons demonstrated that 88.8% treated with the Anodyne
had excellent to total pain relief within twelve 40-minutes treatments.
A second study, which was accepted for publication in Age and Aging,
reviewed 252 patients with diabetes who had experienced chronic foot and
leg pain. After receiving Anodyne Therapy, 87% reported substantial
reductions in their foot and leg pain.
