Lipoderm HMW is a base with a patented delivery system
that is designed to deliver drugs with high molecular
weights through the skin.
Recently PCCA conducted a study with Lipoderm HMW
using a “control” drug (radio-labeled human insulin)
with a high molecular weight (over 5,500 daltons) to test
transdermal absorption through human trunk skin. It
should be noted that trunk skin is considered the hardest to
penetrate, aside from the heel of your foot, since it is thick
skin. The study results showed that Lipoderm HMW was
able to deliver insulin into and through human skin, in vitro.
Note: Human radio-labeled insulin was chosen as a control
only due to its high molecular weight and availability from
the testing company. PCCA is not claiming safety and/or
efficacy of human insulin delivered transdermally.
EXCLUSIVE
Lipoderm HMW works with solvents commonly used
by compounding pharmacies such as propylene glycol,
ethoxy diglycol, DMSO, purified water, glycerin and
alcohol. The semi-clear emulsion gives it an elegant
cosmetic feel. It is very easy to work with and is parabenand propylene glycol-free. Lipoderm HMW is not stable
with high salt load drugs.
