Drug: Passion Copulin Concentrate
Drug Name Status: Passion Copulin Concentrate is the product name.
Canadian Status: Passion Copulin Concentrate is marketed as a pheromone and is claimed to
contain the following ingredients:
Di-propylene glycol
Essential oils
SD40-B alcohol
Fragrance
Copulin blend
Dipropylene glycol is a widely used solvent and humectant used in a variety of industries
including consumer products, plasticizers and polymers. The substance is not structurally similar
to any of those listed in the CDSA.
Name: Dipropylene glycol
Synonyms: Oxydipropanol; oxybispropanol
CAS-RN: 25265-71-8
While essential oils containing more than 4% safrole are captured under item 17 of Part 1 of
Schedule VI to the CDSA, there is no information on which essential oils are used as ingredients
of this product. SD40-B alcohol is reportedly a denatured alcohol and is used to designate
alcohol that is not suitable for consumption. The substance is not structurally similar of those
included in the CDSA. Copulins was previously reviewed and are volatile fatty acids with no
structural similarity to any of the substances in the CDSA.
Based on the available information on this product, none of the reported ingredients are
controlled substances and therefore Passion Copulin Concentrate cannot be included under the
schedules to the CDSA.
Recommendation: Passion Copulin Concentrate is not included in the schedules to the CDSA
and is not a controlled substance.
