Purpose
This specification describes the key requirement metrics for KETG Type A tubular
lamps. .
Scope
This specification defines applies to KETG T8 Type A tubular lamp products. Type A
products operate directly off AC mains.
III.
Critical Requirements
a. Summary of key performance
1. Efficiency: 100 lm/W under nominal operating voltage
2. Life time: 50,000 hrs/ 70% luminous maintenance
3. Supply voltage: 100-277V nominal, 95-305 worst case, 50-60Hz
4. Light distribution: 240 degrees beam angle
5. CR: > 80
6. Power factor: >0.9
7. Ambient temperature -20°C ...+45°C
8. Environmental Safety: Hg free, no UV
9. Harmonic Distortion: < 20%
b. Internal Architecture
Type A lamps consist primarily of a power supply unit (PSU) and a light engine.
1. PSU
All Type A power supplies use non-isolated buck/boost topology to ensure high
efficiency and wide operating range.
2. Light engine
The light engine employs Al PCB mounted LEDs. The table below lists actual LED usage
on these light engines.

Operating Procedures
a. Wiring: Type A lamps connect to AC power using pins on opposite ends. Pins on the same
end are shorted internally so it is necessary to connect only one in each pair.
b. Connect directly to AC mains. Use of ballast or starter is not allowed.
c. Switch off mains supply before installing/removing lamp.
d. Use in fully enclosed fixtures may affect life performance.
e. Not for use in emergency lighting circuits or life-critical applications.
