Note: All illuminous dimmable drivers will dim from 100% to 5%, This correlates to 24V down to
0V virtually. Each LED has a Vf (Forward Voltage), Typically is 3V, and when the driver dims
below this voltage, it will simply stop working. So dimming performance is a factor of the LED,
not the driver.
Note: Dimming performance optimal at greater than 50% load. i.e. 6W+ for a 12W driver. So
pick the right illuminous driver, 12W, 26W or 48W

Compatible Dimmers



All Illuminous dimmable drivers will dim from 100% to 5%. Each LED has a Vf (Forward Voltage), typically is 3V,
and when the driver dims below this voltage, it will simply stop working. So dimming performance is a factor of
the LED, not the driver.
Dimming performance is optimal at greater than 50% load. So pick the right Illuminous driver, 12W, 26W or 48W
Best Dimmers are 'Incandescent ONLY' i.e. Leviton 6631, followed by 'Incandescent / Halogen'. Avoid 'Universal'
unless Load is matched to Driver Capacity, i.e. avoid large driver with small load
Note, The below dimmers have been tested to work, but dim performance is dictated by:
a) The type of Dimmer (Incandescent ONLY, or Inc / Hal, or Universal (Inc, Hal, CFL, & LED)
b) The Ratio of Load size to Dimmer max capacity. Best dimming is 50% to 80% Load.

Conclusions for Flex Strip (Direct LED driving):




W/ft varies by length due to Strip Resistance. 16.3ft = 2.6W, 8.2ft = 4.2W, 4.1ft = 4.8W, 2.0ft = 5.5W,
Best Overall Dimmer is Leviton 6631, Dimming to 25% or better even with poor Load / rated Max. Improves to
sub 10% dim with >50% Load / rated Max
Most 'standard' Incandescent / Halogen dimmers preform well (down to sub 25% Dim) if the load > 70% of rated
max, and OK (down to 30% Dim) if >60% Load
In General 16.4ft to 8ft use 48W driver, 8ft to 4ft use 26W, sub 4ft use 12W

Lutron DV-600PR, Insteon 2477D, Lutron LG-600 very good dimming
Above Dimmers not affected by a low load as 5W on a 12W driver, i.e only 42% load. Higher Load would improve
dimming level.
