and took all his schooling there. In January 1975 Ron began
work with Sask. Wheat Pool in Lawson, SK. He also worked
in Avonlea, Kyle, Eastend and Holdfast during his 26 year
career with the Pool. After leaving the Pool Ron worked for
other businesses in the grain industry, lastly with a company
in Shaunavon. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Isaac
and Mary Harms; as well as two brothers, Larry Harms and
Terry Harms. He leaves to mourn his three children: Jeffrey
(Robyn Hunter) - Regina, Tyler - Calgary, and Jana - Regina;
his siblings: Sharon (Buzz) Folliott - Dinsmore, Elaine Whyte
(Bill Lapshinoff) - Medicine Hat, and Rob (Shelly) Harms Calgary; and many other extended family members. Ron was
an active member of the communities in which he lived. He
was a member of the Kyle Elks, Eastend Kinsmen, Holdfast
Optimists/Men’s Service Club, Village of Holdfast Council - as
councillor and then mayor, among other groups, and would
help out in whatever capacity was necessary. Ron thoroughly
enjoyed his kids’ sports and activities and would always be
willing to coach, drive long road trips or chaperone. He loved
to golf and was quite good at it. Ron loved music and playing
the guitar. He had a great sense of humour and was able to find a way to laugh during even the toughest

talk to. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral
