Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com Grow Little Seed Every seed, yes every one All flowers and all vines Has a tiny plant inside And every single tree A tiny plant, and a little food Each started as a seed To help it open wide When placed in soil The plant finds its way through the soil And watered right It somehow knows which way to go A little seedling grows It pushes and reaches and stretches The roots will reach down low Getting stronger as it grows The roots will then take hold So grow, little seed, grow The plant finds its way through the soil Grow, little seed, grow It somehow knows which way to go It pushes and reaches and stretches Yes, every flower, every one Getting stronger as it grows Has little seeds inside And when each flower dies So grow, little seed, grow The seeds will fall nearby Grow, little seed, grow So grow, little seed, grow Every plant, yes every one Grow, little seed, grow Has leaves on either side Grow, little seed, grow The leaves then open wide Little seed grow Together air and light Little seed grow All vegetables and every fruit Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com 5 Spring Flowers One spring flower As happy as could be Awakens fresh and new One got picked Out popped another And then there were three And then there were two Three spring flowers Yellow, pink and blue Two spring flowers Were chatting with a bee Out popped another And then there were three Three spring flowers Watch a birdie soar Out popped another One got picked And then there were two Two spring flowers Bathing in the sun One got picked And then there was one And then there were four Four spring flowers Spring flowers So happy and alive Out popped another And then there were five Spring flowers So pretty Spring flowers For you and me So pretty Spring flowers For you and me One spring flower Not having any fun It got picked And then there were none Five spring flowers Five spring flowers And not a flower more One got picked And then there were four Enjoying their new home Together by my window They’ll never be alone Four spring flowers Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com It’s because all plants are filled (With what?) With green stuff we call chlorophyll Chlorophyll? (Rachel says) Chlorophyll is the green pigment, or color, found in plants. It helps them trap light. And without it, there’d be no… Photosynthesis, photosynthesis Photosynthesis, (photosynthesis) Plants can make their very own food With sunlight, water and air (so good) That’s because all plants are filled With green stuff we call chlorophyll Photosynthesis Photosynthesis, photosynthesis Photosynthesis, (photosynthesis) Plants don’t have a mouth Like you and me (no, no no) But they have to eat (yum!) So they spread their leaves so green To capture sunlight’s energy Plants don’t have a nose Like you and me (no, no no) But they have to breathe Did you know their leaves so green Can take in air and make it clean? (That’s amazing, that’s cool!) That’s photosynthesis, photosynthesis Photosynthesis, (photosynthesis) Plants can’t hold a cup Like you and me (no, no, no) But they have to drink (ah!) So they push their roots deep down To soak up water from the ground Plants don’t wear green hats Or shirts, or jeans So why are they green? (why, why, why, why) That’s Photosynthesis, photosynthesis Photosynthesis, (photosynthesis) That’s Photosynthesis, photosynthesis Photosynthesis, (photosynthesis) (yeah!) Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com Rain Dance Rain, rain, let it rain We’ll dance for rain Bring us water, let it pour We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops Sky, sky, open wide We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops Darkened clouds and flashing light Splish, splash, thunder crash We’ll dance for rain Top it with a lightning flash We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops We’ll dance for rain We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops Rain, rain, let it rain We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops Bring us water, let it pour We won’t stop ‘til we feel the drops Wind, wind, start to blow Let us watch a lightning show Cloud, cloud, make us proud Bring on thunder, make it loud Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com Share It Yes you’ve wondered, You can share it with a grown up You kept on asking A baby or a shoe You kept on asking ‘til you understood You can share it with a neighbor And now that you know the answer A bird or bee or newt! There’s just one more thing you have to do Go share it with a friend Share it with a friend Go share it with a friend When you share it with a friend Share it with a friend It becomes a part of you Share it with a friend Yes anyone will do Go share it with a friend Share it with a friend When you share it with a friend It becomes a part of you Songs from Rachel & The TreeSchoolers Episode 2: Plants & Flowers © Two Little Hands Productions www.treeschoolers.com
