This selection of Syringa reticulata is more upright and uniform than the species.
Leaves have a warm light reddish tinge, then turn very dark, glossy green. The main
claim to fame for this tree is the large clusters of white or creamy white blooms in
summer. It puts on a long and dramatic show. ‘Ivory Silk’® is a vigorous grower given
good soil, sufficient moisture and fertilizer. Without these, it may be very slow to
develop. Flowers can be pruned to promote vegetative growth.
There are several blights and leaf spots that
effect this tree. Preventative spray may be
necessary. Robinson Nursery offers
“Ivory Silk’® as bare root whips, branched
and multi-stem trees.
