Music Theory Readiness Standards The following are expected indicators of student readiness for each course. AP Music Theory covers the material of first-year college-level theory, including, but not limited to, the development of fundamental aural, notational, and performance skills. Instructor approval is mandatory and students are required to be enrolled in another school music ensemble.
