Web Design I – (0.5 Credits/ 1 Semester)
Prerequisites: Familiarity with keyboard or Computer Essentials is recommended.
Do you want to learn how to create Websites? Take Web Design I and learn to design professional looking
websites that will amaze your family and friends. Students will use professional web development tools and learn
how to code HTML, Cascading Style and Java Scripts.
*Students who receive a “B” or better will also earn college credit.
Web Design II – (0.5 Credits/ 1 Semester)
Prerequisites: Web Design 1 or by teacher permission.
Web Design II is a continuation of Web Design I where students will learn to enhance their web sites using
Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash. In this course, students will: design, edit, and publish web sites, learn to
create and manipulate graphics, use flash to generate short videos and convert them to a web format to view on
the World Wide Web.
*Students who receive a “B” or better will also earn college credit.
Digital Design I/II – (1.0 Credit/2 Semesters)
Prerequisites: Basic computer skills or by instructors permission
Do you want to learn to how to design graphics and animations? Digital Design students will learn to create and
edit graphics, photos and design animated movies. They will learn to use the programs Flash, Fireworks,
Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Photoshop. Coursework is project based and assignments include topics such as
logos, posters, magazine covers, advertisements, flash animations and short videos.
*Students who receive a “B” or better will also earn college credit.
Intro to Java Programming – (0.5 Credits/ 1 Semester)
Prerequisites: Algebra I-II is required. Computer Applications I recommended.
This is a beginning level course that introduces a student to an object oriented programming language (Java).
Students will learn to write structured programs using: data types, methods, conditional statements, loops,
classes, objects, arrays and ArrayLists. Coursework is project based on relevant real world applications.
*Students who receive a “B” or better will also earn college credit.
Advanced Java Programming – (0.5 Credits/ 1 Semester)
Prerequisites: Intro to Java Programming or by instructor approval.
This course provides the student with the skills required to write intermediate and advanced-level computer
programs using the Java programming language. Topics include: Java GUI application design and distribution,
exception handling, debugging, sequential files, graphics and multi-media effects.

Game Programming – (0.5 Credits/ 1 Semester)
Prerequisites: Introduction to Java Programming or AP Computer Science
Course Description: This course for experienced programmers will provide you with everything you need to get
started in game development. You will learn to write exciting and interactive games for various platforms such as
Eclipse, BlueJ and GameIT. Your objective will be to build the game of your dreams!

AP Computer Science I/II – (1.0 Credit/2 Semesters)
Prerequisites: Introduction to java or Algebra III-IV recommended.
Advanced Placement Computer Science A is a college-level, object-oriented programming class with an emphasis
on problem solving and algorithm development. The programming language (JAVA) is the vehicle for
implementing computer-based solutions to particular problems and projects. The course also includes the study
of data structures and abstraction. Some programming experience is highly recommended. However, students
with solid math and problem solving skills can be successful in the class. Students taking the class will prepare for
and have the opportunity to take the AP Computer Science test in the spring for advanced placement in college
computer science programs.
