Greetings,
This is one that I sent in to the Conjunction Mailing List Community back in 2002. I
wrote it in answer to a question by a list member about some upcoming progressions to
her natal Part of Fortune. I would not normally offer words that address a particular chart,
but these words capture the essence of the P of F quite nicely. I hope you agree with me
after you finish reading. You might also enjoy some of the references to Progressions that
abound in the latter portion of this missive.

Here we are, skipping along the edge of The Abyss, looking for answers in the
swirling clouds that lap at our dancing feet, contemplating our unique positions within the
manifested Universe and all we can come up with is a sense of profound wonder
concerning the potential ramifications of progressed planets and Lights to our natal Parts
of Fortune.
The Part of Fortune is derived by moving the natal Sun to the point of the natal
Ascendant, as that is where it should be if the Purpose of the Soul is to manifest it Self,
rather than the Personality of the Ascendant. Moving the Sun to the Ascendant, causes
the natal Moon to move to a position the same number of degrees behind the new Solar
position as it had in the original natal chart. This new Moon position is the Part of
Fortune.
Why would we want to do such a thing? Allowing the Personality to express the
essential purpose of the Sun is an important thing and will allow for a more meaningful
life. Emotional response to the external environment must be well blended with the
expression of the purpose for the life so as to not have our emotions over balancing that
which we are here to accomplish. Now, the Sun is not really conjunct the Ascendant
(unless it was so at the moment of incarnation) and the Moon is not really in it's new
position, the same number of degrees behind the Sun as it was in the natal chart. If the
human for whom the chart has been calculated is working out the needs of the Sun/Moon
combination in just such a way as to allow for blended effects to manifest as a natural
part of the Personality, then that human shall indeed receive the benefits of Divine
Intervention in his or her life.
The Part of Fortune is the place in our charts where we can receive Divine
Intervention, but only if we are doing what needs to be done to achieve the Soulular
Needs of this current lifecycle. This is an important distinction, as the Part of Fortune can
easily be called the Part of Misfortune if the Life Energies are misdirected into a negative
manifestation that cause strife and hardship in the working out of the Cosmic Soulular
Evolution.

We are each of us here for our own distinct, unique purposes and we each have our
own special flavor to bring to the ongoing drama of physical manifestation. We each
have a Sun representing who we are and why we are here. We each have a Moon
representing as She does our unique emotional response to perceived external threat. We
have Mercury which allows us to comprehend and communicate with our not Self. And
so on down the list of Lights, Planets, Parts, etc.
Jupiter has long been associated with good fortune, luck, abundance, attainment, etc..
The Part of Fortune, when being considered for a Soul who is treading the Light Path, is
like a greater Jupiter in that it occupies the position that the Moon would occupy if that
Soul is manifesting his or her purpose, well blended with a right and proper Soulular
Response to and within it's environment. We can look to the P of F to find the very best
possible end result of all of our striving, if we are striving along The Path. Divine
Blessings are available through the P of F's position, and they are well worth having in
our lives. Some of us will actually get to experience receiving those blessings, but most
of us do not attain the potential of our manifestation, due to allowing the negative
ramifications of dwelling within the Earth to interfere with our steadfast manifestation of
The Light, no matter what seems to be occurring around us.
Natal configurations involving the Part of Fortune will indicate how easy or difficult
attaining the Spiritual Goals of any particular Life Cycle will be. The more stressful
aspects indicate areas of life wherein the native will likely react to the external
environment in such a way as to detract from being available to receive the blessings
promised by the P of F. Easy aspects will indicate areas of life wherein the native will
more likely experience the Joy of Accomplishment, with much less effort at being
human, unless the easy aspects are too abundant and have made for a lazy temperament,
disallowing the need to strive for bigger and better things.
Angular relationships between the Lights and planets indicate the same things as
above, but are less indicative of attracting or detracting from the reception of blessings,
than are those involving the P of F, although they do indeed work to increase or diminish
the Joy of Spiritual Accomplishment, in that succumbing to the negative energies
inherent in the stressful aspects will be causative in diverting the Soul away from the
expression of a well blended manifestation of the Soul as a welcome addition to the
Energy Flux of the Earth Plane of Manifestation.
Be it, don't dream it, is more than a song title from the Rocky Horror Picture Show
Movie. The Part of Fortune represents the Ideal Self within any chart. The Ideal Self is
that which must be attained in order to receive the blessings that are promised and await
us within any life cycle.
Transits to the Part of Fortune indicate moments in our perceived journey through time
when we are being challenged to reach for the Golden Ring and when we are more likely
to achieve the goal of our reaching. Easy transits are times when we have fewer obstacles
to overcome in order to find the blessings within our current life cycle. Harder transits

indicate moments when the obstacles will be more difficult to overcome, but wherein the
blessings for having done so will be well worth the effort, as they are much more
profound than those received during the easier moments of Soulular Endeavor.
Progressions are an interesting concept that are not truly understood by all who
practice the art and science of Astrology, but that make perfect sense to me. The
perceived movement of Lights and Planets (etc) called progressions are indicative of the
psychological growth that any individual Soul will encounter during his or her transit of
the Earth Plane. I began this life cycle with a Scorpio Sun, but have, during the course of
my life progressed through Sagittarius and am now living out a Soulular Capricornian
expression of my Purpose for being here. It should be obvious.
Progressions to the Part of Fortune need to be looked at in a slightly different manner
than transits to the same are. While transits represent the circumstances and experiences
that are currently filling our lives with enough interesting things to occupy us, the
progressions show how those transiting experiences have and are now changing our mode
of being. The progressions show is who we have become during this cycle of
manifestation, while the transits show us why this is so.
Progressions to the Part of Fortune may well be the most important cycles that we are
privileged to experience, as they indicate cycles wherein we are shown what we are made
of. Difficult progressions to the P of F will show us that we are ready to finally deal with
some of the difficult aspects of life that have been keeping us wandering in the
wilderness of The System. Easy progressions to the P of F will show us that not only are
we ready to rumble, but that we are going to enjoy it. Either way, the progressions to the
P of F indicate times when we have immense opportunities for making great strides along
our individual Paths into states of Higher Consciousness, wherein we are enabled to
receive the blessings of the stars.
Most of us have heard or read about the recent Star of David configuration and were
informed that it was a time for making a contract with the Universe, with a full
expectation of having it fulfilled. I am telling you that progressions to the Part of Fortune,
when lived out in the Fullest Light will be like having a permanent Star of David
configuration occurring in your life, in the area ruled by the planet or Light that is making
the progressed aspect to the P of F. But, only if that Soul chooses to manifest the highest
potential reality of that configuration. More on this as we consider the manifestation of a
Christ like Existence at a later time.
The signs indicate attitudes. The Lights and planets indicate life principles. The houses
indicate areas of experience. The P of F is in a sign, in a house. The house that the P of F
resides in will show us where those promised blessings will manifest themselves within
any particular life, although the house of the progressed P of F will show us where we are
currently receiving opportunities for Divine Intervention as a reward for Soulular
Growth. The highest attitudes represented by the sign that is occupied by the natal P of F,
as well as the sign of the progressed P of F, show us how we need to manifest our lives in
order to receive the blessings.

Let us take a Scorpio Part of Fortune, nataly residing in the sixth house as an example.
At the highest level of manifestation, the Scorpio energies are requiring those resident
chart factors (Lights, planets, P of F, cusps, etc) to experience Spiritual Alchemy,
transforming the base metal of the human soul into the divinity of a Light Being who
wears the flesh of humanity. The sixth house, at the highest level of manifestation is the
area of life wherein we are challenged to achieve Spiritual Perfection through Work and
Service to the creation that we have each individually caused to come into manifestation,
due to our repeated modifications of the Earth Plane.
Using one chart as an example, we find that the progressed Moon and Venus will be
conjuncting your natal P of F in August of 2002, and your progressed Sun will conjunct it
in January of 2004. Let us figure out what this means in your life. I use the Placidus
house system and it shows us that you have a Taurus Ascendant and also have Taurus on
your 12th house cusp, doubling the Taurian emphasis in your life and you have Libra on
your 5th house cusp, with a 4th house Libra Sun, ruled by a 4th house Virgo Mercury, to
which it is nataly conjunct.
Cancer is intercepted in your natal 2nd house and Leo is on your 3rd house cusp. All of
these houses are soon to be involved in a grand awakening in your life. Of course, if you
have been treading a negative path, then it will manifest as a Rude Awakening, but I
somehow do not see you as that sort of soul.
The first to conjunct your P of F will be your progressed Moon. There is a reason why
some Souls choose to manifest at a time when certain signs will appear to be intercepted
in their birth charts. It has been my experience that the energies represented by the
intercepted signs are being withheld for some later manifestation, at just such a time as
they will be beneficial to the overall manifestation of the Soul. I will assume that the
early nurturing was somewhat absent from your childhood and that you have been forced
to discover some alternate mode of expressing your need to be a caring soul, perhaps due
to the loss or distance of your mother. I try to avoid delineation, as I feel like I am
guessing, more than knowing.
The time of the progressed Moon conjuncting your natal Part of Fortune can be a time
for Divine Intervention to manifest within your emotional life. You may find a sense of
balance between your Self and your not Self. You may find that you are indeed as
valuable a member of the collective reality as you have always hoped you were. You may
find that Love is possible, but that it is the Love of Self rather than the Love of Other that
is the true expression of your current manifestation. You will be given responsibilities
and will embrace them. You will learn what it means to honor thy mother and father and
that it has nothing to due with your parents. I don't understand that last sentence, but
maybe you will as the conjunction occurs. Please share it with me when the light bulb
goes off in your head.
Progressed Venus will be the next to conjunct your P of F, also in August of 2002, and
it will have a triple impact upon your manifestation, as it rules three of your natal houses,

as well as your natal Sun. Have you considered walking on water lately? This will be a
time when you will discover how to find balance and value as you prepare to take giant
steps along The Light Path of your life. You can and most probably will begin to
manifest more of your Indwelling Soul at this time and less of your Temporal
Personality. You will become truly beautiful on all levels and it will seem as if you are
blessed among humans.
Your progressed Sun will conjunct your natal Part of Fortune in January of 2004 and
that will be the natural outgrowth of having lived with the results of the Moon/Venus
conjunction that will have occurred in your recent past (your near future now). You
manifested with Leo on your 3rd house cusp and will therefore find the benefits of the
progressed Solar conjunction to your natal P of F manifesting in 3rd house activities.
Your Soul is about to receive the Grand Blessing to the extent that you are ready and
willing to subjugate the needs of the personality in favor of receiving the ability to
manifest some or all of your indwelling Christ Self. This is your time. You will be The
Mouth of God/dess, to those who are ready to hear you.
So, I hope this answers some of your concerns about having a few progressed
conjunctions to your natal Part of Fortune. I want to thank you for having asked a
question that caused me to want to pick up a book and do some reading.
I apologize to any who are not very into the Spiritual Aspect of Astrology, but find my
Self quite unable to eliminate Spirituality from my deliberations. This could be due to
having my progressed Jupiter conjunct my natal Part of Fortune, as well as last weeks
transiting conjunction of Sun/Mercury/Venus/Pluto to both my progressed Jupiter and my
natal P of F, all of which are doing so many other things with the rest of my chart that it
would make my head spin, if I hadn't already given myself up as a vehicle for the
manifestation of The Light.
