Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the Study Day participants will be able to:
1. Explain how exercise and inactivity affect muscle with regard to the cancer survivor and
palliative care patient with cancer diagnosis
2. Describe how effects of exercises can be optimised
3. List, execute and select appropriate current exercise and activity guidelines for cancer
survivors and palliative care patients with a cancer diagnosis
4. State current exercise guidelines and outline how patients can be best supported to meet
these guidelines
5. Define what factors affect exercise performance in Cancer Survivors and Palliative Care
patients with a cancer diagnosis
6. Explain how post-treatment implications (side effects etc) can affect exercise in survivorship
7. Apply current exercise / activity guidelines for Cancer Survivors and Palliative Care patients
with a cancer diagnosis to a case study
8. Communicate exercise and activity guidelines and proposed behaviour change effectively to
Cancer Survivors and Palliative Care patients with a cancer diagnosis
