Mobility and wide range of internal possibilities as important elements for creation of
competitive products of various purposes.
Keywords: mobility; management; product.
The paper presents indicators of internal possibilities for research and development institute or
its separate subdivision with wide range of activities to create radio technical products in modern
production environment. Significance of mobile management of resources is highlighted for
achieving competitive result. Application examples of these possibilities for three main licensed
types of activity are shown.

New possibilities and restrictions in virtual reality technologies to carry out scientific researches
and three–dimensional visualization of simulation results, and create mivar learning systems and
simulators.
Keywords: virtual reality; three-dimensional visualization; mivar; mivar information space.
Virtual systems and problems of three-dimensional media creation were analysed. Such systems
allow demonstrating precise analogy with real object of study. Mivar information space allows
creation of multi-dimensional media on the base of three-dimensional basis «thing–property–
relationship».

Practical aspects of high data rate transmission through HF radio propagation path.
Keywords: aspects of high rate data transmission through HF path; practical implementation and
test results for MUPS-9600 HF modem; ways to enhance linearity of radio transmitting circuit.
The paper analyses possible ways to provide high data rate transmission (synchronous in the
real-time mode and packetized) through HF radio path: adaptation of radio equipment, multiple
transmit and receive, extention of radio channel operating bandwidth, enhancement of amplifier
circuit linearity, spectral efficiency of signal-code constellations in signal transforming device
(modem). Results of path tests of multi-functional MUPS-9600 HF modem as part of HF loop
line equipment are discussed, confirming validity of the conclusion about necessity of analytical
solution for system task to provide high data rate transmission through HF radio propagation
path.

Analysis of process of voice signal transmission through new generation distributed packet
network with losses.
Keywords: voice message transmission; quality of voice transmission; next generation network
(NGN); hierarchic requirements to quality of service; multiprotocol label switching (MPLS
L3VPN); undelivered voice packets.
The paper shows results of study on voice signal transmission through data networks with regard
to necessary parameters of QoS in isochronous traffic. Hierarchic structure of packet switched
network most appropriate to solve a task of voice transmission with high quality is described.
The analysis was carried out for a process of voice traffic transmission through IP networks,
built on a basis of modern highly reliable switching equipment compliant with principles of
traffic conditioning and engineering, and main causes of packet loss in VoIP network are
identified. Results of study on quantitative characteristics of packet loss during voice traffic
transmission through IP network which is built with consideration of up-to-date QoS
mechanisms are shown.

Deriving optimal parameters for multibeam satellite system.
Keywords: Shannon boundary; antenna pattern; Ка band; multibeam satellite system;
interference; capacity; peer access; cellular structure.
The paper gives an algorithm to derive optimal parameters of multibeam satellite data
transmission system. Down-link capacity of forward channel is computed using specific example
of perfect satellite system, using criteria of peer user access to frequency and time resource or
capacity resource. Appropriate mathematical modeling is implemented with different number of
frequency bands used in different beams, and with different intersection levels of adjacent beams
of multibeam antenna pattern. Based on modeling results, the paper derives optimal value for a
number of frequency bands and level of antenna pattern intersection, thus maximizing capacity
of multibeam satellite system and evaluating this maximized capacity as well.
RADIO COMMUNICATION THEORY AND TECHNOLOGY

Optimization of superdirectivity of broadband receiving antenna arrays.
Keywords: circular antenna array; wave mode; superdirectivity; optimization; signal; noise;
external interference.
The paper examines issues on implementation of superdirectivity effect in broadband receiving
circular antenna arrays. Practicability of superdirectivity effect for optimization based on the
criterion of maximization of «signal/(noise + interferences)» ratio.
N. Lemeshko.
Development of circuit element models for threshold logic on the basis of IBIS theory.
Keywords: threshold logic; modeling; IBIS model; weighting factor; logical element.
The paper offers modeling method for threshold logic devices which are widely spread as
integrated circuits. General information concerning functions of threshold logic elements is
given, and the theory of IBIS models, which is an advanced base for the development of
threshold logic models, is briefly discussed. The paper gives equivalent circuit and its
description, as well as an example for modeling of threshold logic elements.
N. Lemeshko.
Virtual calibration of radiometer models with peak, average and root-mean-square detectors.
Keywords: radiometer model; standard; modeling; ratio calibration; absolute calibration;
amplitude ratio; virtual calibration; reading on model; detector.
The paper gives results of calibration of radiometer models with detectors which are different
from quasi-peak one. The calibration is implemented on the basis of requirements which are
specified by standards for measuring devices which are used in EMC studies. The paper analyses
requirements of standards on calibration, chooses necessary parameters and structure of models,
and gives results confirming possibility of their use as virtual measuring tools.
N. Lemeshko.
Advanced methods for modeling of radio electronic means, and prospects of their development.
Keywords: radio electronic means; modeling; mathematical model; model of ultimate potential
reachability, circuit model; functional model; functionally interfaced model; parametric model.
The paper gives a survey of advanced methods for modeling of radio electronic means. Its goal is
to reveal prospects for the development of electronic means modeling as an integrity. As the
most promising solution for practical tasks, functionally interfaced models are discussed which
are based on parametric assembly models configured using special technique.

Prospects to use IBIS models for digital integrated circuits and of the theory of the perfect
internal logic, to solve new practical tasks.
Keywords: IBIS model; combinational device; sequential device; ternary logic; fuzzy logic;
forbidden state; analysis; modeling; perfect internal logic.
The paper analyses a possibility to expand scopes of the IBIS models and the theory of the
perfect internal logic. Modeling of combinational and sequential digital integrated circuits,
devices with ternary and fuzzy logic, as well as determination of specific states in digital circuits
are chosen to be the promising points of the application. Each of the identified applications is
thoroughly examined for the purpose of further development and bringing to an algorithmic level
necessary to solve practical tasks.
