Cloning: Cloning is the process in which you manipulate nature to duplicate it. history In the late 1800s a scientist named Hans Driesch started to experiment on cloning. He did this not to get identical products but to prove that genetic material isn’t lost during cell division. In 1902 Hans Spemann started to clone on salamanders. Since their cells are so small he had to use his sons hair as a knife to separate the cells. In 1977 German scientist had succeeded in cloning three mice. Since the cells are so small other scientist didn’t believe that he had accomplished that experiment, so they challenged to redo it. They went through his lab and found embryos in a cabinet, when they saw that they where all at different stages they didn’t believe his success. July 5th 1996, the first cloned lamb was born. Dolly the sheep who was cloned took 277 attempts to create and hasn’t been able to recreate. It took a year to make sure her DNA was the same as the frozen mammary cells. 5 benefits It might be able to reverse aging. Clone important organs for transplants. It might replace your defective genes. For women who go through infertility it can be possible for couples to have children.
