 To interpret complex data in a meaningful and easy to digest format for the
organisation.
 To deliver new and actionable insight about consumers and their
engagement with financial services, using analytics and data modelling
expertise
 To analyse population data in order to identify insight and trends which will
help the service determine strategy, policy and propositions.
• Analysing and interpreting population wide data from various sources (e.g.
the Money Advice Service’s Financial Capability Survey, longitudinal surveys
e.g. Understanding Society and other Government Research) to input into
strategic decision and policy making
• Supporting relationships with agencies to ensure that the service provides
and receives accurate / timely information in order to guarantee the
smooth running of research projects.
• Establishing appropriate data modelling and analysis methods and applying
these to identify valuable insights on customer engagement and Service
impact.
• Proactively working with other stakeholders and internal clients to source
insight data and to present findings in a meaningful, accessible way that
leads to action.
• Working in a cross functional capacity with other analysts across the service.
• Supporting the team with ad-hoc research / data related requests
• A degree with a significant research methods component, or relevant
qualifications in mathematics, statistics, and/or relevant experience in
research and data analysis.
• Proven experience in SPSS, Stata, Microsoft Office and other analytical tools
• Proven expertise in working with complex data analysis and relevant
modelling tools
• Proven capability in applying techniques such as regression analysis, cluster
analysis and other data mining / interrogation approaches.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with hands- on expertise of
designing and utilising complex datasets.
• Ability to work with ambiguous, uncertain or incomplete data.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Comfortable in presenting all types of information including complex data
and providing strategic recommendations at all levels within an
organisation.
• Able to work alone or as part of a team
• Able to prioritise their own workload and manage tight deadlines
• Experience of working on large social research datasets; experience of
longitudinal datasets desirable
• Experience working with or in Market Research Agencies
• Understanding of financial services
• Interest or experience in understanding or applying Behavioural Change /
Economics
