Description of Role
The Database Officer plays a crucial role in delivering the department’s data
policy and strategy to drive the organisation’s understanding and development
of its supporters.
Working with the Supporter Data Manager, the Supporter Data Officer will
champion best use of the fundraising CRM (currently Raiser’s Edge) across
the department, as well as ensuing that the database is kept up to date,
accurate and relevant.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Data and Database management

To execute data imports and exports from the outsourced agencies
and partners, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency and security of imports
and data on Raiser’s Edge.


To be a point of contact with Sense’s outsourced partners for any
technical data matters.
Working with the Supporter Data manager, develop and deliver Raisers
Edge training to new members of staff, and to provide refresher training
and guidance whenever there are new developments to the database –
in order to build confidence and trust in Raisers Edge as the
centralised/leading database for Sense fundraising initiatives
Reporting, Data selections, Analysis and Insight

To work with Fundraising teams to further develop the programme of
accurate data selection, capture of results, reporting and analysis,
delivering tangible results to the department
Data Quality



Working with the Supporter Data Assistant, ensure that supporter data
is maintained to a high quality and accuracy by regularly reviewing data
entry guidelines
Ensure that all users are aware of data quality issues and best practice
Maintain accurate, up to date and organised records for all supporters
and prospects using Sense’s database and ensure all information is
managed in line with Data Protection Regulations
User Support


Be the first point of contact for user queries, resolving issues and
maintaining database of FAQs and resolutions
Lead on specialist user groups to help develop best practice in
database use and promote self-sufficiency in teams
