CROSS-CURRICULAR SKILLS
The cross-curricular skills of Communication,
Using Mathematics, and Using Information

the bedrock skills through which young people
access knowledge.
These skills are developed across the
curriculum and are the responsibility of all
teachers.
Unique subject


Excellent position to exploit opportunities to
develop our pupils skills and capabilities in a wide
range of contexts.
We naturally develop our pupils practical skills
but we also have the opportunity to explore the
cross curricular skills from our Northern Ireland
curriculum.
USING MATHEMATICS

USING ICT
In school, ICT forms a vital part of every pupil's

All teachers have a responsibility to provide learners with
experiences of using ICT appropriate to their subject.

Communication
Communication is central to the whole curriculum.
Children should be able to communicate in order to
express themselves socially, emotionally and
physically, to develop as individuals, engage with
others and contribute as members of society.
The modes of communication include talking and
listening, reading and writing.
