SERVICE CASE
FOR TESTING CURRENT AND VOLTAGE CIRCUITS
TECHNICAL AND
OPERATIONAL DOCUMENTATION
1.
APPLICATION
The service case was designed for special demand of groups occupied with startup of electric power
stations. The case includes a range of necessary functions that optimize the startup and
commissioning work.
The W-25 service case is designed for testing current and voltage circuits of power stations after
their modernization or construction.
The W-25 (3 piece) case allows the simultaneous application of voltage and current induction in
three phases of the primary circuits, which ensures the complex control of the correctness of
construction of current and voltage circuits.
The device was made in such a way, as to endure long lasting use in difficult conditions.
W-25 can generate a three phase current of the maximum value of 550A (3000 VA) and a maximum
voltage of 6000V (200VA).
The W-25 type of inducer allows for:
simultaneous check of all primary and secondary circuits, in three phases,
checking the continuity of current and voltage circuits,
checking the correctness of Io current creation,
checking the correctness of creation and distribution of open triangle voltage,
identification of phases of secondary voltage and current circuits,
confirming the correctness of earth fault protection,
confirming the orientation of distance protection,
confirming the orientation of earth fault protection,
confirming power flow direction in measurement devices,
confirming power flow direction in energy consumption meters,
confirming the I/U/P indications in control and monitoring systems,
confirmation of settings of current and voltage adjustments of transformers,
confirmation of correct polarity of the coils of current and voltage transformers,
confirmation of insulation condition of the primary rail.
2.
CONTENTS
The W-25 service case consists of
two autotransformers of the following power:
-
500VA (6000V voltage circuit)
-
3000VA(500A current circuit),
3500VA (500A AC) current transformer,
200VA (6000V AC) voltage transformer,
Two voltage and current meters of the N24 LUMEL type,

emergency switch,
optical indicators,
8m long current and voltage cables with clamps,
automatic safety,
switch of current flow direction,
fan.

All cable connectors (current, voltage, power) are permanently affixed to the device, which means there
is no additional power loss on the connectors. There is also no problem in insulating voltage of 6000V.

STARTUP
WARNING!
All measurements conducted with the use of W-25 case shall be conducted pursuant to safe
work practice guidelines for High Voltage operating devices.
The power supply cables of the W-25 case should be connected to the special voltage distributor
provided together with the set (fig. 2). The main supply circuits are additionally safeguarded on
the distributor.

Prior to switching the power on, make sure that:
all autotransformers are set to 0 value,
all switches are in “Off” position,
emergency switch is set to the working position (pushed out),
“S” type 2 and 16A safeties of the front of the case are set in working position.
After the connection of voltage the fan starts and the meters are switched off. This means that the
voltage and current circuits do not operate. In this state the case can act as source of regulated AC
voltage – 0-260V AC (2A) and 0-230V AC (10A) that is connected to the lab banana socket connector.
In case of connection of current circuits (0-500A AC):
set the dials of the autotransformers to “0” value,
set the current direction to 1 (concurrent) or 2 (opposing),
switch the red switch on,
the current meter is switched on and the red signal will pulse signaling that the current
circuits are ready for load
after turning the dial of autotransformer you will notice the current flow. The value of the
current will be indicated on the meter.

In case of connection of voltage circuits (0-6000V AC):
set the dials of the autotransformers to “0” value,
switch the blue switch on,
the voltage meter is switched on and the blue signal will flash, signaling that the voltage
circuits are ready for voltage connection,
after turning the dial of autotransformer you will notice the appearance of voltage. The value
of that voltage will be indicated on the meter.

CE MARKING
The CE marking was performed in 2013. The marking is placed on the rating plate on the lid of the
case. The rating plate is shown on figure 3. The rating plate includes the basic parameters of the W25 service case and reference values.

6.
SERVICE
The devices manufactured by Energoaparatura SA are subject to standard, two-year warranty
period.
The warranty and post-warranty services are provided in the premises of the Energoaparatura SA
company in Katowice.
7. PROCEDURE FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT OF USED ELECTRONIC DEVICES.
Pursuant to the 29 July, 2005 used electric and electronic devices Act (Journal of Laws “Dz.U.” No.
180, item 1495) the used product shall be returned to the Energoaparatura SA company or to a
company providing utilization services for electronic waste.
