Three-phase frequency and voltage converters for manual and automatic test benches
and measurements labs
These are very robust and low cost equipments developed especially for intensive use on
production and testing lines, are used also in research and development labs.
FVC series static converters provide a symmetrical and balanced system of three-phase sinusoidal voltage with
the possibility to vary output voltage and frequency. With them it’s possible to test equipments that can not be
supplied by conventional mains grid; they allow to create patterns of voltage suitable for testing the limits of
operation or they can be simply used as voltage regulator equipments. Are devices suitable for medium and high
power applications and their price/performance is very convenient.
They provide a sinusoidal waveform output with low harmonic distortion of less than 3% even in the presence of
asymmetrical loads.
They can work with resistive, inductive and capacitive loads.
The presence of electromechanically selectable output scales allows to adapt the equipment to different
requirements, this allows to use all the power at various full scales without having to penalize heavily the power
output.
The output voltage is continuously adjustable from 0 to fs, the feedback is done on each single phase and it’s
possible to have the external sensing to compensate for the drop on cables. The voltage accuracy is 2% and the
recovery time for a 50% load change is about 2mS.
The output frequency, in the standard models, ranges from 40Hz to 80Hz continuously adjustable in increments of
0.1 Hz (on request it’s possible to have equipments from 10Hz up to 800Hz).
They consist of a power section that supplies the power and a microprocessor control section through which it’s
possible also to change the control parameters to match the load.
The converters generate a three-phase system, but it’s possible to take the single-phase using the neutral or two
phases (clearly with reduced power).
