RUNNING TIME
The Orlando Fringe has a strict policy regarding show length during the Festival. The running time
of your show begins when the pre-show announcement ends and your first cue happens. The
official Fringe time is determined by your Venue Tech’s official Fringe clock. If your show goes over
the allotted scheduled time, your Venue Tech has the authority to bring up the house lights and end
the show. If it happens more than once, you will be assessed a $50 fine per occurrence.
90 minutes or less is allowed in GOLD, ORANGE and SILVER venues. 75 minutes or less is
allowed in BLACK venue, and shows in ALL OTHER venues must be 60 minutes or less.
Fringe strongly encourages your Fringe show to be 60 minutes or less, and we cannot accept any
show longer than 90 minutes.
Please select your running time with care. The maximum length you enter on this application is
final, but you may decrease your run time by emailing [email protected] before
January 1st 2013.
16. Running Time of Your Show:
Scheduling
The Orlando Fringe will provide you with your show schedule by no later than March 1,
2013. Each group will receive a variety of show times. Fringe makes no scheduling
accommodations for artists doing multiple shows, though we do allow artists to perform
in more than one Fringe show. It is important that your company is available during the
operating hours of Fringe without conflicts. All weekday shows will begin as early as
4:30 PM or as late as midnight. All weekend shows will begin as early as 10 AM or as
late as midnight.
UNDERSTANDING THE LOTTERY

You are applying to be a part of the 2013 Fringe and are choosing up to your TOP THREE
venue choices and paying the fees associated with YOUR HIGHEST PRICED PICK(all fees
are due with application, not jut the application fee)

ALL applicants will be entered into a venue lottery, with adherence to the following
geographically tiered quotas:
o 50% of the slots are reserved for local companies (companies within Central Florida)
o 25% for national (companies applying from outside Central Florida, but within the US)
o 25% for international (outside the United States).
o Should the national/international quotas not be met, local groups will fill remaining slots.

Applicants are first drawn in association with their geographical tiers(International first,
followed by National, and then Local).

Venue slots are reserved by tiers according to quotas(ie. If a venue has 8 available slots, 2
go to International, 2 for National, and 4 for Local).

If first choice venue is full for your tier when drawn, you will be placed in your second(then
third) choice venue. If all three venues are full, you will be placed on wait list.

Once the venue lotteries are complete, those selected are secured in those venues.

The waitlist order is determined by order drawn in original lottery; numbers/ranking on the
waitlist is assigned in the order they are placed on waitlist.

The lottery is scheduled for November 19th, 2012, 7 PM at a location to be announced.
Lottery is open to the public, and results will stream in real time on Twitter and Facebook.

Fringe staff will make every effort to accommodate as many groups as possible into the
Festival. Should a group not get into their desired venue/seat capacity but does get into the
Festival; those groups will either be invoiced or reimbursed the difference in price. Should
your group not get into the Festival, you will be given 100% of your money back, unless you
choose to stay on the waitlist.

Waitlisted groups may remove themselves at anytime up to the Festival’s start date and
receive 100% of their money back.

All applications received later than November 15, 2012 at 5 PM are automatically placed at
the bottom of the waitlist.

All refunds are issued via check (no matter what payment type you use)
VENUES & SEAT CAPACITY/FEES

All venues are centrally located in four separate facilities, but within quick walking
distance of each other.

There are four centralized Box Offices in each of our facilities for all venues.

Tickets may be purchased at all Fringe Box Offices during the 13-day Festival or
online at orlandofringe.org, beginning one month prior to the start of the Festival.
When making venue choices, please know that the lottery will play a huge part in which venue you
end up in, and Fringe will do its best to accommodate your requests. The Orlando Fringe is
fortunate to know its venues at the time of applications. The amount of seats in your venue determines, in
part, what your application fee is. Fringe has a variety of venues ranging in size, seat capacity, amenities,
and layout. Please note that 10% of all houses are reserved for your comp list, Volunteers using Fringe
Bucks, Staff and Super Passes. The comp policy and more info will be provided to you post-lottery at
artist conferences and walk-through or when you turn in your tech forms. For detailed venue descriptions
and photographs, visit our website at orlandofringe.org
Below is your TOTAL cost unless you get an early bird discount, add a piano, or a program ad.
Remember when applying to pay for the highest priced of your three venue choices, even if it is
your second or third choice.
