Environmental Laboratory Technician
Classification:
This is a Full Time permanent position, located in Juneau, Alaska.
Admiralty Environmental is looking for a dynamic person to join the firm as an Environmental Laboratory
Technician in our Juneau, Alaska office. This position will be responsible for supporting a variety of projects
that include environmental sampling, laboratory analysis, and project management for a variety of industrial
clients in the cruise ship, mining, and wastewater treatment industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an
environmental professional to work with a well established and technically diverse firm on challenging
environmental water quality issues.
Key Duties:
 Planning and managing field sampling projects in coordination with the general manager (writing and
preparation of sampling plans; coordination with and oversight of subcontractors and regulators; and
environmental sampling of groundwater and wastewater);
 Working in field teams consisting of 1 to 3 members, emphasizing proper environmental sampling
procedures and health and safety;
 Operating a remote mobile laboratory, for two- to three- week periods, in both domestic and international
settings;
 Analyzing water samples and interpreting environmental chemistry data using laboratory instrumentation;
 Database management;
 Writing and preparation of reports and other technical documents;
 Interaction with clients and regulatory agencies;
 Assisting in developing presentations; and
 General office tasks and supervision.

Job Requirements
Qualified candidate will have the minimum of:
 Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering;
 1 to 3 years of relevant experience;
 Strong writing, communication, and computer skills;
 Ability to work in the field in industrial settings; and
 Proven ability to work independently with some supervision, as well as proven ability to effectively work in
and/or lead larger project teams. Frequent overnight travel will be required. Must be 21 or over.

Seasonal Environmental Technician

Admiralty Environmental is looking for dynamic individuals to join the firm as seasonal Environmental
Technicians in our Juneau, Alaska office from May – September, 2016. This position will be responsible for
supporting a variety of projects that include environmental sampling, laboratory analysis, and project
management for a variety of industrial clients in the cruise ship, mining, drinking water and wastewater
treatment industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level environmental professional or college
upperclassman to work with a well-established and technically diverse group on challenging environmental
water quality issues.
Key Duties






Assisting on field sampling projects, including environmental sampling of groundwater and wastewater;
Analyzing water samples in the laboratory and interpreting environmental chemistry data;
Data entry and data validation;
Interaction with clients and regulatory agencies,
Assisting in report writing, and
General office tasks.
