About Hotel Pro Forma Hotel Pro Forma is a Danish theatre-group that has presented visual music theatre since 1985. They are best known for their visually stunning operas, TOMORROW IN A YEAR from 2009 with music by Swedish The Knife, OPERATION : ORFEO on the myth of Orfeus and Eurydice. Their performances are characterised as cross-genre, meaning they incorporate elements of music, visual arts, architecture and performing arts. They are most often compared to Robert Wilson (USA) or Guy Cassiers (Belgium). They always develop new technology in audio-visuals, light and sound for each performance, giving the audience a unique experience each time. The work does not follow traditional theatrical structures such as story, text, plot or dramaturgy. Instead the performances present visual and musical universes that investigate universal subjects such as Darwin, the Arabic or Christianity to allow the audience to, in their own words, “see the world with new eyes.” They have presented at many major venues around the world including Venice, Berlin, Lisbon, Moscow, Istanbul and New York.
