• Cancer Resource Center—Established in
association with the American Cancer Society, our
Cancer Resource Center provides education, information and referral services—a single convenient
source for information on risk reduction, diagnosis
and treatment of cancer. Alvarado Hospital is able to
provide breast prostheses, bras, wigs, hats and turbans
to women who are dealing with the physical affects of
their cancer treatment.
• Support Services—“Reach for My Hand” is a
proactive outreach program that links cancer patients
and their families with information, counseling and
community resources.

lvarado Hospital’s oncology services have been
designated a Community Cancer Program
by the American College of Surgeons Commission on
Cancer. This designation is only for hospitals offering the
highest quality cancer care—and only about one in four
hospitals providing cancer care earn this distinction.
Our cancer center uses advanced techniques to
aggressively treat malignancies, while providing hope for
a future without the disease. We strive to provide each patient with high-quality, compassionate care in comfortable
surroundings, as well as extensive education and support
for patients and their loved ones.
Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of boardcertified oncologists who collaborate with a wide variety
of specialists in pulmonary, GI, gynecology, hematology,
neurology, otolaryngology and surgery. Our oncologists
are considered among the best in the region and have
been involved in multiple clinical research projects.
• Diagnostics—We offer ultrasound, mammography,
nuclear medicine, CT scanning, and magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI) and PET—all interpreted
by our board-certified radiologists.
