The Fox Chase Cancer Center, a freestanding NCI-designated
comprehensive cancer center, seeks a Nurse Navigator for our GI
Oncology Program.
Fox Chase Cancer Center has a reputation for excellence and innovation in advanced cancer
medicine as a leader in cancer care. As an NCI-designated cancer center and founding
member of NCCN, we set the standard for oncologic care. The GI cancer program at Fox
Chase is a particularly vibrant program, with 8400 new patient visits per year and 110 medical,
surgical, and radiation oncologists. This position is an opportunity for an established oncology
nurse to help strengthen our clinical patient navigation program. If you are an experienced
oncology nurse with a commitment to ensuring expedited and coordinated access to care for
cancer patients from diagnosis to treatment, this could a great opportunity for you.
Essential Responsibilities:
As a nurse navigator you will become an integral part of the patient care team from diagnosis
to treatment to supportive care services. You can ensure an effective coordination of patients
into Fox Chase Cancer Center and access across the treatment modalities.
A critical element of the position is to have a strong knowledge base of GI specific cancer,
have the ability to facilitate expedited care for patients with medical oncologists, surgical
oncologists and radiation oncologists, and integrate support services as needed across the
Center. Familiarity of the patient pathway across the continuum of care through outpatient
and inpatient based on disease state is imperative. As part of the GI team, you will require a
collegial and collaborative work style in fulfilling these functions.
Essential Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will possess a BSN and Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) or
advanced certification in clinical related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in clinical
oncology services is required.
