Protector Description


The Protector is a small and effective
electronic protection device that can be
implemented in every electrical installation
and in every electrical appliance.
The device allows to raise drastically both the
level of human protection against
electrocution and the level of protection
against home fires.
The Problem


US Consumer Product Safety Commission
determined in its publication from 2004 that
problems in home wiring are associated with more
than 40,000 home fires every year. These fires claim
over 350 lives and endure 1,400 victims annually.
The reasons for the fires are:
- defective plugs and sockets
- defective home electrical appliances
- overvoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage
The Problem (cont.)

Electrocution is the result of:



Defective home electrical appliances without grounding or
with defective grounding
Inserting metallic parts into sockets by children
Protection restrictions of Residual Current Devices (RCD):




Only leakage protection
10% of RCDs do not operate properly
High current threshold – 30 mA
RCDs do not operate without grounding
The Problem (cont.)

The existing overvoltage protection device
has the following disadvantages:





Does not operate without grounding.
Is sensitive up to 12 V between zero and
grounding.
Is very expensive.
Disconnects all the home appliances from the
mains.
As a result, the device is not in use.
The Solution


The Protector – a small electronic device for current and
voltage control that disconnects from the mains a
specific electrical installation or a specific electrical
appliance when there are dangerous deviations from
the nominal current and voltage parameters.
The Protector shall be implemented:




Into sockets
Into plugs
Into adapters
Into electrical appliances at the mains input
The Protector Has Many Types
of Protection










Leakage protection
AC or DC shock protection
Overvoltage protection
Undervoltage protection
Overcurrent protection
Fire protection
Arc protection
Zero absence protection
Live and zero feeders change protection
“Children” protection
First Implementation






Electrical sockets in Israel, first customer –
Waisbord Ltd.
Additional production cost to the existing sockets is
about $3
Marketing potential for Israeli sockets is more than
US$48M annually
World marketing potential is more than US$7,2B
Time to market: 8-12 months
Feasibility of the protector was proved in the
inventor’s laboratory
Technology




This unique protection device is based on ultra
high sensitive and fast detection and response
to dangerous currents and voltages
The idea and the methods belong to the
Inventor, Mr. Boris Fradkin
A patent search was performed, no such
technology is available
There are technological entry barriers for
developing and manufacturing a product similar
to the Protector

Technology Advantages




The Protector is cost-effective, sensitive,
selective and accurate.
The Protector can be implemented in various
electrical appliances.
The Protector can replace the existing
Residual Current Devices (RCD).
The Protector has the highest level of entry
barriers.

Standardization: Certification in every country
from standard institutes.
There are 13 different types of sockets in the
world. Every type needs the Protector
adaptation.
Contacts with electrical appliances producers
for integrating the Protector in their devices.
New markets development.
Road Map




Development of sockets with the Protector for the
European market
Development of sockets with the Protector for the
Israeli and American markets
Development of additional devices – line of
protection devices based on the Protector
Cooperation with electrical appliances producers
