Job Description

Reports To: Director of Sales Strategy and Development
Summary:
The Manager, Business Intelligence and Analytics will work closely with
the Sales and Marketing Leadership teams to develop and provide business insights and
strategic recommendations through the use of internal and external data sources. Act as
the primary point person for all business analytics related to Sales and Marketing of D.G.
Yuengling brands
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
I.
Analysis
a. Acts as the lead for all DGY Sales & Marketing data and analysis needs
b. Conduct quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of key data metrics in
industry (shipment, consumption, depletions, dollar sales, share,
distribution, consumption drivers including promotional, display, pricing
activity, consumer panel, industry or custom consumer insights, etc.) to
track performance and identify opportunities and gaps
c. Prepare summaries of findings for use in sales presentations and Executive
reviews
d. Support Sales & Marketing Leadership Teams with business intelligence
to assist with decision making
e. Develop and maintain scorecards to measure Share, Volume, Distribution,
Feature/Ad Display Conversion and provide insights for Salesforce to
execute
f. Support Marketing team in developing metrics to understand, evaluate,
and target opportunities for brand development and measure campaign
program and promotion effectiveness
g. Assist with use and execution of online Distributor and Chain customer
annual business plans, including Category Management and assortment
recommendations
h. Support National Account team with analysis of syndicated data and
development of content for DGY selling strategies
i. Troubleshoots data discrepancies with internal and external sources
j. Supports Distributor, Zone, Region, and Chain Planning process with
appropriate reports to help identify market development and package
opportunities
k. Liaise with VIP and other vendors to communicate DGY needs and
monitor data accuracy
l. Plays a critical role in developing monthly & quarterly Sales Forecast to
provide guidance to Operations team with current information at sku level
m. Build compelling selling strategy and sales tools (sell sheets, program
decks, etc.) for distributors and retailers in order to drive fact based selling
n. Assistance with ad-hoc requests from Executive, Sales, Marketing,
Business Planning and Pricing

Other Responsibilities
a. Train and coach DGY personnel in the use of data reporting systems for
implementation with customers, and assists in the on-boarding of new
hires
Skills and Qualifications:
a. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates group
presentation skills and participates in meetings.
b. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Advanced Excel skills
c. Detail oriented, with the ability to work independently or as a team.
Promotes flexibility and is responsive to change in a positive manner.
d. Requires extensive knowledge of the three tiers of the beverage industry.
e. Experience using VIP and other data systems is required, as well as a
proficiency in using syndicated data, including consumer panel.
f. Proven track record of turning complex insights from data sources into
actionable recommendations
g. Exhibits excellent communication and leadership skills, along with ability
to work well in a team environment
h. Self-starter, with the ability to build and implement systems necessary to
collect, maintain and analyze data.
i. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as requested, directed or
assigned by management.
j. Ability to travel occasionally, with frequency of up to 25%, to make key
distributor and chain customer visits.
k. Ability to meet deadlines. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely
manner. Works well under pressure.
l. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors work for accuracy.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience
is required. Proven track record of success performing data analysis, building and
maintaining business reporting systems in a challenging environment. Experience
working for leading Alcoholic beverage, CPG company, or Syndicated Data supplier (IRI,
Nielsen) preferred.
