the 1st International School of the Future Sociologist
"Sociological Cooperation-2013"
to be held
9-12 September 2013
at the recreation center of Zaporizhzhya National University (Khortytsia island)
The School program involves conducting master classes by leading sociologists
from Ukraine and the near abroad; lecture-discussions; presentations of the School
participants’ competitive works; tournament for young sociologists; signing of
cooperation agreements.
The
Organizing
Committee
invites
4-6
year
students
of
sociological
departments, specialty "Sociology" of higher educational institutions of Ukraine,
Russia, Belarus, Poland, which are focused on further scientific work to participate in
the School. The selection will take place on a competitive basis.
Approximate number of participants: 15 students.
The working language: Russian, Ukrainian, English.
Accommodation and meals - at the organizers’ expense; travel spending - at the
participant’s expense.
In order to participate in the School it is necessary to send up to 30 June 2013
(inclusive) to the School Organizing Committee the following documents:

filled application form (see below);

recommendation letter of the scientific supervisor;

competitive work - an essay on the topic: "The sociological school: academic
traditions and / or success in the scientific market" of up to 3000 characters.
The package of documents should be submitted up to June 30, 2013 (inclusive)
in electronic form on both e-mail addresses: [email protected], [email protected].
In case of the absence of the part of the documents the participant candidacy will
not be accepted for consideration by the Organizing Committee.
ALL SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS APPROVED ON THE COMPETITION BASIS MUST
PREPARE A PRESENTATION OF THEIR COMPETITIVE WORK (ESSAY), where
might be illustrated the following issues:

the scientific school origins (personalities, chronology, social and cultural context
and background);

“the scientific school passport” (school geography, links with universities,
foreign branches, links with other schools, other quantitative and qualitative
characteristics);

famous sociologists - representatives of the scientific schools (teachers and
students);

the school methodology features and main research areas (research projects, a
brief summary of the research results);

pedagogical tradition and innovation of the scientific school;

current stage of the scientific school development and its prospects.
