1. A student will be able to use dental indices in evaluation of a patient's oral status and this
makes him able to put an appropriate treatment plan for a patient.
2. A student will understand the types of epidemiological studies that evaluate the society
problems (making comparisons, recognizing priorities, and putting plans for solving problems
and then evaluating the effectiveness of such plans in solving the a problem.
3. Understanding the main concepts of statistics and using statistics in dentistry for analyzing
problems encountered in communities and a population.
4. A student will be able to evaluate scientific articles and understand how the evaluation of
scientific articles relates to the understanding of meaning of evidence-based dentistry.
5. A student will understand the concepts of public health and the importance of oral health
status to the population and primary health care components that is supplied to the population to
