Previews for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child began in London’s West End at
the Palace Theatre on 7 June 2016 for Part One and 9 June for Part Two. The new official opening date for
Part One and Part Two is Monday 25 July with reviews under embargo to 00.01 on Tuesday 26 July 2016.
The Opening Gala will take place on Saturday 30 July 2016. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one
play presented in two parts. Both parts are intended to be seen in order on the same day (matinee and
evening) or on two consecutive evenings. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is currently booking to 27
May 2017.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and
the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne, directed by John Tiffany. It will receive its world
premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre this summer and is the eighth story in the Harry
Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has movement by Steven Hoggett, set by Christine Jones,
costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music & arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound
by Gareth Fry, special effects by Jeremy Chernick, illusions & magic by Jamie Harrison, music
supervision & arrangements by Martin Lowe and casting by Julia Horan.
The cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comprises Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma
Dumezweni (Hermione Granger) and Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley) with Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter),
Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Cherrelle Skeete (Rose Granger-Weasley), Alex Price (Draco Malfoy)
and Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy). They are joined by Nicola Alexis, Helen Aluko, Jeremy Ang
Jones, Rosemary Annabella, Annabel Baldwin, Jack Bennett, Paul Bentall, Zoe Brough, Morag
Cross, Cristina Fray, Rudi Goodman, Claudia Grant, James Howard, Christiana Hutchings,
Lowri James, Chris Jarman, Martin Johnston, Bili Keogh, Chipo Kureya, James Le Lacheur,
Helena Lymbery, Barry McCarthy, Sandy McDade, Andrew McDonald, Tom Mackley, Adam
McNamara, Tom Milligan, Jack North, Stuart Ramsay, Nuno Silva, Esther Smith, Nathaniel
Smith, Dylan Standen and Joshua Wyatt who complete the cast for Harry Potter and the Cursed
Child. The 42 strong company (including seven children who will alternate two roles) will be playing a
variety of characters.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee
of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a
past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a
family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the
uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

For every preview performance there will be 250 tickets at £15 or less per part and after opening the same
number of tickets at £20 or less per part will be available for every performance.
Previews: £10, £25, £40, £45 or £50 if bought separately; £20, £50, £80, £90 or £100 for a seat for both
Part One and Part Two of the play.
Performances from 3 August 2016: £15, £35, £50, £60 or £65 if bought separately; £30, £70, £100, £120
or £130 for a seat for both Part One and Part Two of the play.
From 6 July 2016, the production will commence its regular performance schedule: Monday – no
performance, Tuesday – no performance, Wednesday – 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part Two,
Thursday – 7.30pm Part One, Friday – 7.30pm Part Two, Saturday – 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part
Two, Sunday – 1pm Part One & 6.30pm Part Two.
Every Friday, The Friday Forty will be at 1pm where 40 tickets will be released for every
performance the following week for some of the very best seats in the theatre with subsequent
ticket releases taking place each Friday for performances the following week. Priced at £30 during
previews (£15 per part from 7 June until 30 July 2016) and £40 (£20 per part from 3 August 2016
after the Official Opening) tickets will secure a seat for both Part One and Part Two on consecutive
performances. Customers will be selected at random for the opportunity to buy tickets online and
will be able to purchase a maximum of two tickets for both Part One and Part Two in one

On 18 January 2017 the matinee (Part One) and evening performance (Part Two) of Harry Potter and
the Cursed Child will be captioned and on 4 February 2017 both the matinee (Part One) and evening
performance (Part Two) will be audio described. To book access performances, please call 0330 333 4410
