Job Description Role Title: Communication and Media Officer Reports to: Marketing & Fundraising Director This is an exciting position for you to work alongside and learn from the Marketing Director, with over 17 years communications experience in the heritage education sector. If you are looking to develop your skills in marketing then this is the perfect opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic charity. You will receive a full inhouse induction and training programme to develop your skills and knowledge in communications. The main aim of this role is to coordinate the Celtic Harmony marketing strategy through a range of seasonal campaigns and communication pillars from PR to social media to generate new leads and reach visitor targets. Celtic Harmony Camp,is the largest reconstructed Iron Age settlement in Britain with roundhouses set in acres of ancient woodland and providing ‘hands-on’ activities based on experiential archaeology, living history and primitive skills. Location: Celtic Harmony Office, 9 the Limberlost, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, AL69TS Main Duties: 1. To support the Marketing Director in engaging with existing and prospective clients Working to and assisting with development of the marketing strategy Coordinate & implement the marketing campaigns for school trips, archery and events. Coordinate and develop the social media marketing campaigns. Liaise with Press contacts and coordinate PR Promote the charity at exhibitions and events Monitor and report on marketing performance Copywriting for newsletter and promotional material Managing a database of photos and production of scripts for short videos Ability to produce quality photos and video is desirable but not essential 2. Promote Celtic Harmony’s work and evidence of impact Provide content and evidence of Celtic Harmony’s work and impact (e.g. case studies, research, current data, quarterly newsletter) that will engage with the education and voluntary sector Develop a programme of comms that supports the promotion of the Celtic Harmony Experience and communicate the outcomes of this effectively Identify and secure news coverage of events and developments at Celtic Harmony Camp Maintain a pipeline of award applications and write and submit entries Competencies & Levels Working to Objectives & Standards Planning & Organising Stakeholder Orientation Active Analysis & Decision Making Continuous Improvement Developing Self & Others Working Together Communication Leadership 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 Qualifications, experience & behaviours required for this role: experience writing copy and using marketing channels to meet targets Ability to develop and maintain good working relations, both within an organisation and with stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication skills including copy writing, proof reading, delivering engaging content and co-ordinating communications processes Good working knowledge of word, excel on mac Experience in graphic design (desirable) Proven ability to work on own initiative, meeting objectives and tight deadlines under pressure Able to show a flexibility of approach and work effectively within a team Heritage / Outdoor industry knowledge (desirable) An understanding of, and sympathy with, Celtic Harmony’s mission and strategy Willingness and ability to get the job done This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.
