Catholics believe life begins at conception and abortion violates the commandment that thou shalt not kill. God has a purpose for each of us. Some Christians-such as Church of England (Anglicans) and Methodists may think abortion is the lesser of two evils in extreme cases such as rape or risk to the mother’s life. (i.e. Love thy neighbour-what would be the more loving thing to do?) Religion and Prejudice All men and women are made in the Image of God (Genesis 1:27) and are therefore all equal. Jesus taught compassion and forgiveness and not to judge others. Good Samaritan God’s glory is reflected by the natural world. As ‘Stewards’ we should not exploit, pollute or abuse nature.
