Dry Eye, Red Eye and Chronic Eye Disease Clinic A new service at QUT Health Clinics Red, sore and irritated eyes are prevalent in the community. One in three adults suffer chronic eye irritation associated with dry eye, eye allergies, conjunctivitis and blepharitis (inflamed eyes). Dr Julie Albietz is a therapeutically qualified clinical optometrist and dry eye and ocular surface disease expert. Dr Albietz recently joined QUT Health Clinics, Kelvin Grove with 20 years experience working in ophthalmology clinics to establish a Dry Eye, Red Eye and Chronic Ocular Diseases Clinic within the QUT Optometry Clinic. Comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services will be offered, as well as opportunities to access new treatments for chronic eye irritation. The clinic also provides diagnostic and management services for other chronic eye disease problems such glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Individuals interested in accessing the diagnostic and treatment services offered at the Dry Eye, Red Eye and Chronic Eye Disease Clinic are welcome to contact QUT Health Clinics for further information. There are no out of pocket expenses for patients provided they are current Medicare Card holders. Free parking is available at the clinic.
