How Islamic
teachings
help to
improve
Muslims
in their daily
lives
Where did Islamic teachings
come from?

The Holy Quran

The sayings and practice of the
Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him)
Prayer
 Prayer is one of the five
pillars of Islam
 Muslims pray 5 times a day
to praise and thank God for
all the things He has given.
 Muslims do “ WUDHU ”
before every prayer.
 That means they wash their
hands, mouth, nose, ears,
face, arms, head and feet.
 Prayers teaches
discipline and to
overcome
laziness.
 Like physical
food, prayer is
spiritual food for
the body

Mosque
prayer for Muslims

Muslims gather to offer
their prayers in the mosque
which give them chance to
pray together and socialize
as well.
 It teaches them equality
and brotherhood.
 Muslims are advised to
stand straight in a line
while praying.
Fasting
Fasting helps Muslims to:

Improve the health of the
body, clears the mind and
soul

learn self control,
patience and discipline.

care and understand the
pain of a poor and hungry
person

give up bad habits and
replace them with good
ones.

Muslims break their fast
with prayer.

The first thing they eat
is dates because it was
the practice of the Holy
Prophet (pbuh).

Muslims are advised to
eat healthy and in
moderation.
Holy Quran
•Holy Quran is 1400 years old book.
•It is a Book from God.
•Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet
Muhammad PBUH in the month of
Ramadan that's why Muslims read
Quran more often during Ramadan.
•Muslims are expected to read the
Holy Quran daily and live their lives
according to its teachings.
•It has 114 chapters and 30 parts.
•The complete Holy Quran has been
translated into 50 languages of the
world.
Charity
 Charity is one of the
pillars of Islam.
 Muslims give 2.5 % of
their spare money
every month to poor
and needy people
 It teaches them to
help people and share
our money so the poor
can also enjoy what
God has given to us.
MUSLIM FESTIVAL

Muslim celebrate two
festivals:
1) Eid-ul-Fitr- celebration
after the month of fasting
2) Eid-ul-Adha- remembrance
of sacrifice by Prophet
Abraham (as)

The main purpose of Muslim
festival is to thank God and
promote love and
brotherhood.
On Eid Day
Muslims put on
their new clothes
before offering Eid
prayer.
Muslims girls
and women put
Henna on their
hands, wear
sparkly dresses,
shoes and
bangles on Eid
day.
After offering the prayers in
the mosque Muslims greet each
other with “Eid Mubarak”.
Muslims give charity to the
poor and needy on Eid so they
can also enjoy the celebrations
of Eid.
They meet their friends and
relatives, eat special meals and
exchange Eid gifts with each
other.
Thank you!
