Reason for Change:
Many Section 16 tests need tolerances on the voltages. For ease of use, I recommend placing a standard
tolerance at the beginning of the section. The voltage tolerance was picked as a percent of nominal to
solve the issue of "what is 1% of 0 V."

submitted to ac harmonic tests (letter H) or not (letter X).
Unless otherwise specified in the controlling equipment specification or in the DO-160 test
procedure:

For nominal voltages greater than or equal to 100V ac or dc, all input power voltages shall
be held to within +/- 1.0% of the nominal operating voltage, (i.e. 0 V ac on a 115V system
is 0 V +/- 1.15V ac.)

For nominal voltages less than 100V ac or dc, all input power voltages shall be held to
within +/- 2.0% of the nominal operating voltage, (i.e. 0 V dc on a 28V dc system is 0 V
+/- 0.56 dc.)

All time durations shall to be held to within +/- 10% of the specified amount

All rise and fall times shall be less than 1.5 msec between the 10% and 90% points of the
actual voltage transition.

All frequencies shall be held to within +/- 1.0% of the specified value.
Note: These tolerances are for the purpose of applying standard test procedures to the equipment
under test and do not reflect the actual tolerances of the aircraft power source.
As Modified Text:
Action items:
1. An issue to a +/- 2% voltage test is low line 28V testing. This will be fixed in a separate change
proposal to be a +0/-1% test.
The +/- 1% tolerance on 115V testing is not an issue according to both Boeing and Airbus.
2. 16.5.1.7 needs to have a tolerance added to the 0.2V dc offset. This will be fixed in a separate change
proposal to be a +2/-0% test.
