Los verbos
Using verbs in Spanish is quite different from how we use them in English.
In Spanish, each person/subject that you talk about has their own unique
form of the verb you wish to use. In order to determine who uses which
type of verb, we must understand how to conjugate a verb in Spanish.
Each person/thing that we wish to speak of has their own subject pronoun.
The subject pronouns in Spanish are:
Yo
=
I
Tú
=
You
*Él/Ella
=
He/She
*Usted
=
You (formal)
Nosotros/Nosotras
=
Us, we
**Ellos/Ellas
=
They, them (masc./fem.)
**Ustedes
=
You all

** share the same verb conjugation
There are three types of verbs in Spanish. We can classify a verb based on
whether it's infinitive form ends in an -AR, -ER, or -IR.
Based on the infinitive's ending (-ar, -er, -ir), we can determine how we
must conjugate the verb for each person/thing.
Each type of verb has their own unique verb endings. They are as follows:
Yo
Tú
Él/Ella/Ud.
Nosotros/as
Ellos/Ellas/Uds.
-AR
o
as
a
amos
an
-ER
o
es
e
emos
en
-IR
o
es
e
imos
en
Once we determine whether the verb is an -AR, -ER, or -IR verb, now we
are ready to begin following our steps for verb conjugation.
STEPS FOR SPANISH VERB CONJUGATION
1) Identify the type of verb (-AR, -ER, or -IR).

form your stem.
