Composers Assignment
Grade level:5-8
Time to finish: 2 Weeks
Instructional Theory: Constructivism is a philosophy of learning founded on the premise that,
by reflecting on our experiences, we construct our own understanding of the world we live in.
Each of us generates our own “rules” and “mental models,” which we use to make sense of our
experiences. Learning, therefore, is simply the process of adjusting our mental models to
accommodate new experiences.
Instructional System: Bloom’s Taxonomy: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis,
Synthesis, and Evaluation.
Objective:
PART I: The learner will arrange the given Composers in chronological order. For each composer
include a picture, name the period which the composer belongs and list 3 major works.
PART II: For each composer the student will choose one of the major works and listen to the
song on Youtube, and then write a paragraph (4-5 sentences) on why the song is important in
the world of music. All work must be presented in word document.
