(b) For a lithium ion cell (including single cell batteries), the Watt-hour rating is not more than 20 Wh. (c) For a lithium metal or lithium alloy battery the aggregate lithium content is not more than 2 g. (d) For a lithium ion battery, the Watt-hour rating is not more than 100 Wh. Equipment incorporates safety devices 7 Batteries Integral to Equipment Proposed August 2015 • 38.3.2.1 A cell or battery that is an integral part of the equipment it is intended to power that is transported only when installed in the equipment, may be tested in accordance with the applicable tests when installed in the equipment. March 2016 • 38.3.2.1 Equipment with an integral cell or battery and fitted with protective devices necessary for use may be used during the applicable test procedures when the cell or battery is designed to be transported only when installed in the equipment. 8 Lithium Metal Button Cells Button cell or battery means a round small cell or battery when the overall height is less than the diameter. 9
